All of you are CRAZY...the GN makes that razr so dull and to top it off they played you all because as of today its obsolete thanks to the Razr Maxx...hahahaha
Saddness...I bought the GN yesterday and I'm returning it today. Honestly, I didn't like ICS...It felt like a different OS. Almost like a poor attemp at an...yuk...iPhone. I switched back to my GB Droid X, feels like home! I really wanted to like the GN.

Will be happily sticking with my iPhone![]()
How can you even say this with a straight face? I learned there are two different types of Android fans, the ones who love the overlays (Blur, Touchwiz, etc) and those who love the stock feel. My first android phone was a Fascinate. While TW does resemble an iPhone, there is no way possible that ICS does.
As far as the comment about going back to the Droid X over the GN, I have messed with the DX, have one sitting here next to me with Liberty ROM on it, looks a lot like a stock Android without all the Blur lagging it down.
As far as everyone else on here singing the praises of the RAZR, it's a great phone. However, if you are under the impression that this phone will see ICS anytime soon, don't hold your breath. By the time Motorola gets around to porting Blur to the phone, and Verizon approves the update, it will be Blur with a few ICS features sprinkled in. Samsung is already proving this with their TW port. I guarantee you will not see ICS until at least June. Motorola is already making excuses by their release stating all of the "obstacles" they will have to face to get ICS on phones. That is their way of saying "it will be a pain in the rear to get Blur integrated into these phones."
Finally, enjoy the Blur experience, because the locked bootloaders will continue to limit what the awesome Android Developers can do to truly open this phone up.
After seeing all the leaked ICS builds so far on the SGS2 and Xperia devices, I'm glad I got a GN. Seems like they have all butchered ICS to the point it is unrecognizable.
....your missing what makes a nexus what it is........SOFTWARE. Written exactly the way it is intended to run...open and free.....Molest it with Verizon/Motorola CRAPPOLA....there's your RAZR.
Exactly.. I seen a leaked version of Touch wiz with ICS and it looked like CRAP.. Seeing as how Touch wiz is like 10 times better then Motorola's custom skin I feel bad for razor owners.. Nice phone though, but I need a removable battery.. Its also funny I see all this talk about the back covers.. No nexus owners have really been complaining about that.. Its more of a challenge to get on but once mine is on it goes nowhere... I think people were just not putting them on right!
I guess you have never thought that some actually like custom UI'S. Did you know that not everyone likes the same thing? Guess that never crossed your mind.
That's why there are options. Not everyone likes what you like and vice versa. I feel bad for closed minded people.
IMO, I need removable storage since I don't want you have to stream everything and when traveling I love to have tons of music and video. It's not feasible to stream on a plane.

(JT1143, TeamHacksung, TSM) I was able to not only enjoy a full Google Experience on my Fascinate, but am running a very functional ICS, or enjoy a TW based ROM that is tweaked to be as fast and full featured as it gets. Getting this functionality on a locked bootloader will put most the ROM on there, but not all of the features that the ROM was designed for due to a locked kernel.

The Nexus was rendered obsolete by the GSII...before it's release! All of you are CRAZY...the GN makes that razr so dull and to top it off they played you all because as of today its obsolete thanks to the Razr Maxx...hahahaha
Some points here are true, but taken out of context. Yes the droid razr has better build quality, but that's only one part of the story.
First of all, trying to get a feel for lag from a demo unit is not a good idea. Those phones are on all day with people loading and installing all kinds of different websites and apps. I went into a verizon store to try out a razr while it was on the way from amazon and was so horrified from the lag that I almost canceled my order. When I received it tho, there has been absolutely no real lag. On top of that, the gnex usually has live wallpapers on it by default and I have never seen one live wallpaper that didn't add some amount of lag. The razr is slightly quicker mostly due to it's lower resolution but the difference in speed between the two is probably negligible.
Also, I used to have a samsung captivate and anyone who owned a galaxy s phone knows that the best thing about them was the dev community due largely to the fact that the galaxy s lines were very similar allowing easy porting of software from the international version. Even with all the lag and gps issues, the wonderful dev community made the galaxy s line bearable. The razr will not have that type of dev community. Motorola is spitting out too many phones for a dev community to grow. The Bionic just came out before the razr, and now the razr maxx is already announced. One thing you can count on with the gnex is that it will have a consistent and active dev community.
Lastly, yeah I know you can only "disable" bloatware apps on the gnex, but there are like literally only two, my verizon and something else, but my verizon at least is something that I will definitely use and the other I can disable. The razr has like what 15, of which 5 or so can be uninstalled unless you're rooted.
Simply I'm just trying to say that claiming that a demo unit at a verizon store is laggy and falling and so you don't like it isn't a very reasonable judgement. At least the gnex has a battery cover!
I just bought my gnex on amazon for $150 and the extended battery from verizon wireless for $25. A very good purchase, at least IMO. I really really like the razr, but overall, it's kind of difficult to go with it over the gnex. For anyone who is a techie/tinkerer kind of person, the gnex is the way to go. I'm the kind of person who uses beta windows versions, I'm on the google chrome beta channel right now, so it's only fitting that I get a cutting edge phone with updates directly from google.
Someone in this thread said that the only thing the gnex has going for it is the screen. Not true. The only thing the razr has going for it is build quality and expandable storage. The gnex has ics, better screen, quicker updates, no bloatware, a faster growing dev community, and a removable battery.
Sorry for the rant.I really like my razr, but I am glad that I'm exchanging it for the gnex. It is the only phone that I feel that I will be completely happy with for the next 18 - 24 months of my verizon contract. This is just my opinion and I just thought I'd shed some light on why some people actually prefer the gnex even tho the razr has amazing build quality.
OP is completely butt hurt he got the razr instead of waiting for the Nexus. The Nexus is a beast in every possible way. It is a true Nexus, there is zero bloat besides myverizon and bac. It is butter smooth. Oh and wait, my screen doesnt turn slime green when its on auto brightness. Fyi, alot of the display phones run different software versions than the purchasable ones and are usually buggy. If you had patience you wouldnt be so outspoken.

Saying that you're not a techie and don't want to root your phone doesn't automatically make the razr the choice for you. IMO, the razr is more likely to require rooting and flashing roms than the gnex will. You would have to root and flash roms in order to be able to get rid of bloatware and to get ics, or the next android update without waiting 3 or 4 months. What about someone who doesn't care about rooting, custom ROMS and a dev community? What about non-techies? What about someone who feels that removable storage is more important?
I do own a razr, and I just wanted to give both sides of the story. You can't make a thread bloating about your phone and not expect owners of a comparable phone to not compare the two devices. People understand that build quality and expandable storage are going to be top priorities for some, but overall I'm glad to have gotten the gnex and most people should be, as long as expandable storage and having the absolute best build quality aren't your very top priorities. My point is that GN owners come to the Razr forum and try to make them feel inferior about the phone they purchased. I would never go into the GN forum and trash the phone like some of you feel the need to do here. Or worse, defend a chunk of plastic, metal, glass and electronic chips and circuits
"If you actually read my post" you'll see that I also mentioned that the gnex usually has live wallpapers running on it by default which will slow down performance. The Gnex already has TWO updates out and a third already announced. Any bugs or slowdowns will be fixed soon. When will you guys learn that it's about personal preference. There is nothing to defend. We're talking about a piece of electronics here.
I happen to feel that the only phone that I can live with is one that is made well, hence I chose a Moto phone. But then again, that was my choice based on my needs, no one else.
BTW, I am the OP and if you actually read my post, you will see that I was the first one to use the demo unit the day it was launched.
I returned my Nexus today. Got tbe Razr. Ahhhh, much nicer. I have signal, my pics look good, the phone feels good...and The battery life is better. I think the screen looks better as well. People forget that the Razr screen is Super Amoled PLUS, non pentile.
