My $250 Huawei Mate 20 Lite has a 6.3" display and it is a beautiful display, in my opinion. If I were to get a Pixel, it would have to be the 3aXL which is $479 compared to $250. The phone is made of plastic. It looks and feels so cheap. It reminds me of a 10 year old outdated phone that is a prepaid phone. Thick bezels, plastic material, ugly appearance. Also, the display on the 3a and 3aXL are just awful. Now, the single lens camera is great. But for $479 I expect more than just a good camera. It is sad in America that $479 is considered a cheap plastic phone. $479 should get you the king of phones. I was an iPhone user, and I still am a MacBook Pro user. But I didn't feel that my last iPhone lasted long enough to justify the cost and I don't approve of Apple's iOS updates. For example, iOS did an update that made the iPhone not work with my car's factory stereo or steering wheel controls. Then iPhone fixed the issue with a small version update of the update. But then 6 months later, iOS took away my car compatibility permanently. Of course me and most everyone else with my car's stereo, bought an iPod Nano without iOS. I went back to Android and I love Android, but there are so many cool phones and budget phones that aren't compatible in America. In America, people buy a Galaxy, iPhone, or Pixel. All three are overpriced and these companies all know that. I have owned all three. I couldn't stand the software and layout of the Galaxy. I hated the iPhone iOS updates, and the Pixel was just too plain to be worth the price. Now that I've found that I can get a phone that not only does the job that I need it to do for $250, but it is attractive and the quality feels great. The camera does a good job and it offers a good Android experience. In my opinion, Android updates aren't a big deal, which is mainly good. I don't seem much difference between Oreo and Pie for example. I'm quite happy with my Huawei but with all these stories all over the internet, I can't figure out what is true and what is not true. I don't even think the people that are saying everything actually knows what is true and what is not. What I do know is that my son's Huawei Mate SE has a May security update and my new Huawei Mate 20 Lite does not have any security updates. My phone was unboxed and setup three weeks ago and it says that it's security patch is February. Huawei is saying that my phone WILL receive Android Q, yet I still don't have Android Pie. I've done a "live chat" with Huawei and they said my phone will get Android Pie "at any moment". Other sources have said that Huawei soon will lose all updates from Google. Some articles say that Huawei wants to work to make a deal with Google but even Huawei sites are mentioning that they are going to start using their own OS. I don't want a phone without Android. So, that is my issue. I've thought about getting another Chinese brand phone like Xiaomi but the same thing could happen to them next. And I paid $629 for a fully spec'd One Plus 6 and it ended up being a terrible phone. Their updates literally crippled it. Now they have TONS of reviewers and you can just tell they are being paid to talk up their phones. If you read forum threads from One Plus users on One Plus's site, you will see that once people buy them, they start to hate them. I bought my One Plus 6 fully spec'd not because I am a heavy user, but because I wanted it to last. It was terrible. And One Plus could be targeted in the "trade war" as well. So I'm not sure what to do right now.
