I've said it before, I'll say it again as more time has elapsed. This FPS is fine. There is an inconsistency in how long it takes to unlock. Sometimes, it's almost instant, sometimes there is a delay but, my accuracy is 98 to 99%. Last night I unlocked my phone 20 times in a row with each thumb, only had 1 failure.

All of you that are having issues, do you have a screen protector on? I do not and if you do that very well could be the difference.

That's my experience as well. Also, I have switched to smart lock and have it working with my Garmin watch. I've never used those before but am enjoying the experience so far.

My experience has been good with the fps too.
I'm coming from a 1+ 8pro, with a very similar fps, so I'm used to it.
And I've also been using smart lock more.
Overall, best phone I've ever had.

Two weeks into using this phone and have only had one failure to read any of my saved fingerprints. And that one was my fault, didn't have my thumb on the actual sensor location. No issues with the optical sensor for me.

The issue is getting any substance on your digit. I play golf everyday and tho you can't see it and my Golf club grips are new. It puts something on my thumb. The same way any dirt or oil causes a problem. I can than input the digit a few times and it will work fine with the dirt but as soon as my hands are clean (and I clean my hands like hundred times a day and not because of covid...I have always hated being sick and so have been avoiding touching things with my fingers for 40 plus years lol) The sensor will not work again and I have to re input my right thumb again. The left thumb stays cleaner and works about 100% of the time.

Now we are all getting used to this and it is manageable and in my case it is my only issue. Yet if this thing doesn't work the first time 100% of the time, it is really annoying. I am looking forward to a Software fix (Which they can absolutely do)...I couldn't give a hoot about security...I would prefer a 100% like my P5 sensor.

Clearly none of the engineers who worked on this sensor were not golfers , or they would have been pissing and moaning about how they need to fix it. lol

This has pretty much been my experience, too. I'm happy with it.
