Inconsistent Wifi from less than 15 feet away

I have a Verizon model and am experiencing the wifi connection drop maybe once or twice an hour (if not more) before reconnecting again. Anyone else experiencing this?

I'm 15 ft away from the router at all times. My friend bought a Note 4 (Verizon as well) the same time I did, and his phone experienced this issue as well. This has NEVER happened to any previous devices before (iPhone 4s, 5, 5s, Macbook Air, various desktop network cards, XBox 360, PS3, Wii U.. you get the idea)

In the wifi advanced settings "Smart network switch (Automatically switch between mobile data and Wi-Fi to maintain a stable internet connection" is NOT enabled.

Welcome to Android Central! Do you live in a house or a condo/apartment? Are there a lot of different wifi networks around you? If there are, they can cause interference or congestion, and you may need to change the network channel your router is using.

I would try changing the channel on router. Ch 1, 6, 11 are the best. You can use one of those wifi analyzer app to find less crowded ch then use that.
