initial thoughts on my TF

Hey everyone! Got mine yesterday and got to play with it for a little before work and I have to say that the pro's I've noticed so far are:
A: its really light. B: screen is gorgeous, I don't care what the Acer iconia people say, that they don't see a difference....BS! C: battery life D: asus Widgets are a nice touch
Negs:
A: ACER screen is more responsive to touch B: I hear a pop from the left speaker (my right) everytime I boot up. So far music is good and I dont hear it negatively impacting speaker performance at the moment but will keep an ear open. C: slight lag in launcher or swyping through home pages, not much but its there.
In a nutshell, I luv it nonetheless and happy I returned my iconia a500

I'm with him. I just got mine this AM, and am stunned... it didn't have any problems (almost no light bleed at all.

my TF doesnt play 720p videos in the browser at all. and in HQ they are very very choppy..

I just played the gesters video from that page at 720p with out trouble in the browser. Just got my TF few hours ago and installed the update that was waiting.

Odd, i can play the second video fine but have trouble with the first one in browser. In youtube app it works fine.

I can vouch for the fact that the Iconia's screen is more responsive. I'm bordering on returnjng the Iconia myself but with each day that passes that i can't find a dock is making me think twice about that.

i have a perfect wifi signal at home and as you can see on the first vid the progress bar shows that video is actully caching faster than it plays... So if other people are not experiencing any of the problems i have, then the tablet itself must be defective otherwise idk WTH is going on.. anyway this thing is going back to best buy. my Atrix has problems with playing embedded 720p but nowhere near like on TF.... and in youtube app it plays HQ vids flawlessy. which is really strange cuz these devices both got the same hardware.....

Well.. i dont even know what say... on my TF all videos in 720p dont play at all... well anyway... good thing i bought it from bestbuy and they dont charge restocking fee...
Btw my nickname "Trevalkin" is the name of the character from John Meaney's trilogy "Nulapeiron sequence" thats one of the best scifi books I've ever read in my life hes really awesome

Yup i also agree. I returned my aconia and orded my asus tuesday. Just got it today and i love it! Its definitely a lot lighter and the screen is gorgeous! I do believe that the screen responsiveness is alittle lacking but thats about the only negative I have. With the mycloud feature,free unlimited storage and the build quality is also top notch.I thought that I would dislike the plastic back but i actually loved it from first touch because it wasnt as slippery as iconia. i definitely feel like i gota deal. Now i just need to find a keyboard....:-(

Not only does my Evo 4g run as fast or faster than both these tablets on my WiFi, it played that video right off without a hitch. Both tabs hesitated on those vids.

What's going on here? Should my Evo be on any kind of equal footing with these tabs?

Honeycomb 3.0 is slower then gb imo. 3.1 should fix that.

Sorry, keep forgetting Nexus is ahead of the world... anyways... my coworker has the Xoom which has gotten the 3.1 update and its loads faster then 3.0 on his device. Google was under pressure to release 3.0 and it was not ready yet (they even admit that publicly), 3.1 is what 3.0 should have been. However the only place that I seem to have any issue is with flash. Games, music, etc all seem to work smoothly. I'll have to dump a movie on it and see how that goes... I'll report back.

I tried it yesterday..... it didnt play any of my dvdrips (gave me an error) except one (ironically) 720p bdrip but: there was no sound and it looked like a complete, absolute crap... too bad i didnt make a video of it to post here...
