installed enhancedgooglesearch.apk on sc 2.9 need help

This will FIX ALL , use Odin in PDA to flash it

then flash back up

why would you not want to boot the phone.. it is after all a mini pc with a phone.
if it were me i'd use the soft menu key and reboot..

I am using odin to flash. I figured if I let the phone reboot before I flash whatever bug thats in there might get into the new rom.

I downloaded 2.9.2 This file- EC10SC292x_DXC.tar and then extracted it and used .md5 file in odin.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this isn't supposed to be extracted?

Dunno if this is the same problem but im running sc 2.9.2 and my google sear?h is not working. when i type something in and press search my phone vibrates once...then twice quickly similar to a force close but the force close notification does not show up...it just goes back to the search bar

Had this happen one time yesterday and it was corrected with fix permissions then reboot.

I wiped all data from the phone and flashed again. The force close is gone, and everything seems ok. The only thing that is a little strange is I get a quick vibrate or two while the phone is booting. Is that normal?

You should get a vibrate upon boot. That is normal.. Usually only one.

I was anxious to debing my phone and installed the enhancedgooglesearch.apk on the sd card. Now the phone is slow and I get a repeated force close com.google.process.gapps has stopped please try again. I have since found the thread that says not to install on eb01. Doh!
I have tried to delete any file that is related but it keeps coming back. What are my options to fix this? and can I get google on the search button on sc 2.9?

I see you've fixed your issued, but i'm wondering if there should be a sticky or something noted in the most recent ROMS that are coming out that explicitly states that the enhancedgooglesearch.apk should NOT be installed and is NOT needed anymore.

I was having a lot of force close issues when I first went to Froyo from 2.1.

I actually wiped EVERYTHING, flashed back to DI01 via odin, upgarded to EA28 through Verizon OTA, then flashed back to SC2.9.

When problems persist my best advice is to start completely over. (DroidXcon was super helpful when I had my isues.)

If fix permissions did not correct the issue something is not compatible with the ROM. It could be a theme component, that is not compatible with the ROM. The haptic feedback that you feel is an app or component failing/crashing as it tries to load.

i had this issue yesterday. the only way i could fix it was to totally reflash through Odin. then upgrade to 2.9.2
