So after reading through this thread I decided to give it a shot, and ordered an HTC One a couple of days ago. It just arrived, I swapped out the SIM from my dying Droid 4, and called the number to activate expecting it to fail. However, it activated successfully and now my account shows 2gb of data... did I miss a step somewhere? I'm really not looking forward to fighting to have this all undone and then find some other way to get a new phone that doesn't lock up every 5 minutes...
Droid X2 is a 3G phone so it doesn't have a SIM card. What you need to do is find a 4G LTE phone you can activate on your account so that you can get a SIM card activated for you account.
Ummmmm.......reread post #269. I DO have my UDP on all four lines that originally had it. So like I said.....worked perfectly.
So whats the best fool proof way to get the upgrade?
I have:
1 line with unlimited data, Thunderbolt, upgrade available.
1 dumb phone with an upgrade available.
1 dumb phone with no upgrade available.
Buy Droid Maxx on dumb phone line, activate Maxx on dumb phone line. Reactive basic phone on the same line.
Then activate Maxx on the Thunderbolt line? But will that require switching sim cards? Both Maxx and Thunderbolt have different sized sim cards.
How can you obtain a new nano sim, by going to a Verizon store or online? Will they inquire why a new sim is needed? You would need a new nano SIM card for your line or cut your existing card once the basic line has been reactivated
Sent from my VERIZON LG G2
No, it would not require switching SIM cards if you use the dumb phone line's upgrade. You just reprogram the SIM card that came in the Maxx for the UDP line. No new SIM card needed and no risk of losing UDP since you are not using your UDP line's upgrade nor are you transferring your UDP lines upgrade. So whats the best fool proof way to get the upgrade?
