Just ordered the S5. Everything said keep existing plan. Fingers crossed. So all i have to do is just put in the old sim card, turn on phone, and it will activate and be g2g?
So what if everyone posting about successful upgrades with udp in this thread works for Verizon and are making us up to steal our unlimited data? No but seriously... what if?!?
My friend who works for verizon (customer service rep in store) said that once i put the old sim in the new phone, i'll lose my unlimited data. So if I do lose it , is there any reversal? Like if I return the phone to best buy or something and can forget it ever happened?
Yep, thats it! I upgraded last week from the Razr Maxx to the S5 with UDP still in-tact!
-Get the phone in mail, do not turn it on.
-Remove sim card from S5 and flush it or burn it or whatever...
-Shut the Razr maxx off remove sim card.
-insert the Razr maxx sim card into the S5
-insert the battery into the s5
-Turn the S5 on and follow the on screen prompts.
-It will ask you to select a language (English for you I assume)
-then it will say "The sim card has already been activated" YAY!
-Login in to your verizon account and check your plan.
-Should show extended contract to 2016 with a date
-Will also show your UDP still in tact.
Good luck!
I know this is a Droid forum and I was brought here thanks to google search. But would an iphone make any kind of difference. Has anyone on here upgraded an iphone using this method? I'm sure it doesn't make a difference but I'm just curious

I tried poking through the Best Buy web site and it still wants to remove my UDP.I would like to use the upgrade service to get a new phone for my Fiancé. I don't want to lose UDP on my current phone. Any suggestions? What site should I use to get the phone? Can this be done? I don't plan on activating the new phone on my current plan, just give it to her to activate on her own plan.
Thoughts?
