That would have resulted in the loss of UDP on L2.
Got my posts mixed up.

That would have resulted in the loss of UDP on L2.
Here's my situation again (to avoid having to find it):
Verizon Family Plan:
L1: UDP Samsung Galaxy S5 - Upgrade eligible - Contract expires 4/11/16
L2: TDP iPhone 5S - Upgrade eligible - Contract expires 5/31/16
Goals:
1) Upgrade L1 to Galaxy S7 without losing UDP
2) Avoid $20 / month additional fee for UDP
3) Get S7 at subsized rate ($199)
Need Help keeping udp. I bought a S7 through Best Buy on the Verizon network I cut down my SIM card from my S4 when I turn the phone on it said account was already active everything seemed fine. But now my phone is requesting me to call and activate my phone I'm thinking this will terminate my unlimited data plan any ideas on what to do and if calling to activate phone will terminate UDP.
If you used your UDP line to upgrade the only thing you can do is send the phone back to keep your UDP. Or if you go back to your old phone with no problem sell the new phone and use that money to buy a phone outright.
So I put old Sim card back into my S4 and it's not work now ether. Also my Verizon is showing UDP is gone. Going to take S7 back to Best Buy and hope to get back my UDP.
So, for anyone who's interested, here's my (somewhat unique) upgrade story: I was planning to use my upgrade on L2 to accomplish Goals 1 & 3. I was then planning to use BBM after this was complete to accomplish Goal 2 (by extending my contract).
I went to the Costco kiosk for Goals 1 & 3 because I didn't think there would be any risk to simply use L2 upgrade (already TDP), then transfer that line to L1 later.
Well, the guy at the kiosk told me that he could transfer the upgrade from L1 to L2, activate the S7 on L2, move it back to L1 and effectively accomplish all of my goals in one visit. I decided to roll the dice because I wasn't particularly excited about doing the BBM to extend my contract on L1. Long story short - it worked (at least for now). As shown in the attached image of L1, I still have UDP, there's a shiny new S7 on that line, and my new contract end date is 3/19/2018.
This certainly wasn't a recommended process, but it seems to have worked for the time being. I'll let you all know if anything on my account changes once the dust settles!View attachment 221120

@RFclipse, did you need to have both phones (galaxy s5 & iphone 5s) with you when you performed this at Costco? I'm assuming they were able to put the iPhone back on L2 after this was done?
I'm pretty sure Verizon has made it impossible for us to transfer upgrades on our own now.
Is anyone else having issues transferring upgrades to a different line? When I try through myverizon, it seems to apply correctly, but then when I check upgrade status on BBM website it does not reflect the change. When I log out/log back in to myverizon, the upgrade reverts back to the original line. I contact VZW via chat and they were helpless.
Here's my scenario, BTW:
Nationwide talk/text share 1400
L1: UDP, Samsung Galaxy s5, upgrade available, CED 5/13/16
L2: UDP, Samsung Galaxy s5, upgrade available, CED 4/11/16
L3: TDP, iPhone 5c, upgrade NOT available, CED 3/6/17
L4: TDP, iPhone 6+, upgrade NOT available, CED 10/21/17
L5: UPD, LG G4, upgrade NOT available, CED 7/22/17
I would like to accomplish the following:
1) Upgrade L1 & L2 to Galaxy S7 without losing UDP
2) Avoid $20 / month additional fee for UDP
3) Get S7 at subsized rate
I was under the assumption that I would need to:
1) transfer L1 & L2 upgrades to L3 & L4
2) purchase subsidized phones through BBM on L3 & L4
3) destroy SIMS that come with subsidized phones and re-sell them
4) use proceeds to buy new phones outright and swap SIMS from current L1 & L2 phones into new phones
Am I going about this incorrectly? I'm tempted to just go to Costco like @RFclipse and give it a whirl since I cannot seem to transfer the upgrades on my own. Any thoughts?

Update. I took the S7 back to best buy and they returned it. The best buy rep had me speak with a Verizon rep and I got my S4 back working and my unlimited data will be Bach within 24hrs seeing I returned the phone with in 14days. Wish I would have researched the BBM a little more as it doesn't work the way it use too. Thanks for the help.
Any other tricks to keep UDP and get a S7?
A texting plan see slickdealsNever mind lol I misread year of end date lol. Does anyone know of a promo that will extend a contract by a year?

No, I think it's some sort of free text thingIt's the friends and family 450 minute plan?
I'll check again. No, I think it's some sort of free text thing
No, I didn't have to have either phone with me (S5 or iP5S) to complete this process. It was all done on their computer. The iP5S on L2 was taken offline for a short period of time during the process (while the S7 was temporarily added on that line), but it was back up and running by the time I left the store.
I'm sure that the ability to do this at Costco is completely dependent on the ability / willingness of the rep. Best of luck!
Thanks for the tip, @RFclipse! I figured since it worked for you at Costco that I would give it a shot at BestBuy storefront since the cost of the Galaxy S7 is $99 as opposed to Costco's $199. Again, here was my scenario:
Nationwide talk/text share 1400
L1: UDP, Samsung Galaxy s5, upgrade available, CED 5/13/16
L2: UDP, Samsung Galaxy s5, upgrade available, CED 4/11/16

L4: TDP, iPhone 6+, upgrade NOT available, CED 10/21/17
L5: UPD, LG G4, upgrade NOT available, CED 7/22/17
I explained to the rep what we were trying to do and he basically said that he would not be able to transfer the upgrade from UDP to TDP, but if any TDP lines had upgrades it would probably work. I was pretty disappointed, but there was a Costco down the road so I decided to go there and give it a try.
The rep at Costco was very cool and understood what we were trying to do. He was able to transfer UDP upgrades to TDP lines, active the new S7's on TDP, then do a 'device swap' back to UDP. This extended the contract on our UDP lines for another 2 years (thus avoiding the extra $20/month charge for UDP) and gave us S7's on the UDP lines, all without sim cutting or swapping.
The rep did run into an issue when doing a device swap on one of the lines - basically there are 'incompatible features' (when swapping droid for iphones older than the iphone6 - I theorize it is because of lack of 'advanced calling'), but he made a quick phone call and was able to get around that.
So in short, Costco was able to do everything we wanted! Also, they have a rebate on the S7 of $125, in form of a 'Costco Cash' gc that brings the cost of the S7 down to $75 (kind of)!
Thanks again, @RFclipse!
Glad to hear that Costco was able to help you out also! Almost seems too easy compared to the hassles of BBM and cutting SIMs.
I'm now 5 days post-upgrade and no issues whatsoever!
