I have to order through Verizon (because of having a business plan) so can someone tell me the best way to do this.

Line 2 TDP w/upgrade due
I can order under Line 2 and when phone comes don't power up, take sim out and replace it with Line 1's sim? or
Order under Line 2 and when phone comes activate under Line 2 then transfer phone over to Line 1, then transfer Line 1 upgrade over to Line 2?

You can do it either way. And no reason to then move upgrade 1 to 2 unless you are getting two phones. You can't just move the upgrade and leave it there without ordering. If line 2 wants a phone later then switch the upgrade.

I have an iphone 4s and a 4g lte sim card already in my posession. I plan to use the best buy method.

Is it required that the new sim card be activated in a 4g phone before ordering? Or is it only suggested?

It is suggested to get the 4G SIM working PRIOR to using the BestBuy method. You want the transition from old phone to new phone to be a non-event for the SIM from the carrier's perspective. I went from an iPhone4 to a Note 3 by using a friend's orphaned 4G phone for about a week prior to ordering the Note3.

just read on slick deals that a guy pre ordered the iphone 6 a few weeks ago on verizon did the swap from his udp line to his tdp line with no problems got the phone activated it not using the sim that came with it and all is good so not sure why someone said you cant do a preorder on the note 4 on verizon.com

Do it, then you can confirm to everyone here that it works.

I think people are just worried about having a order on hold that long. I don't see why it would make a difference myself. But at the same time what is the difference in waiting to order or waiting for the phone to ship?

I don't see the $200 rebate that you mentioned when I look online.

Oh I see, damn I could trade in my old Galaxy Nexus I still have and keep my LG G2. But wasn't planning on getting a new phone right now.

I guess to be on the safe side you could do it on the 22nd.

yeah thats what i am thinking that way too other people will have theres and will be real world reviews on the phone i wasnt going to upgrade either till this deal came along i have the samsung s4 and can sell it for at least 100 so free note 4 lol

I preordered note 4 by transferring unlimited upgrade to tiered data line. So far it appears to be coming, online it shows the tiered data line greyed out waiting for activation

I am going to try the upgrade through option 6 with best buy on my udl. I'll let you all know if I still have unlimited after a month, it seems too good to be true although honestly I will probably have to make the switch eventually because i'm on a family plan and my unlimited data is holding up switching to another plan to lower our bill (the other two lines use less than a gig each and have a $30 2gb plan) at this point I'm paying about $40 more each month for unlimited data and I don't know if it's worth it anymore.

That is a good summary of your options. Option 2 keeps everything the same as it is now except for replacing old phones with new phones. If a line has tiered data it keeps tiered data. If a line has unlimited data it keeps unlimited data.

Option 2 extends the Verizon contract for 2yrs on only the line it is used on.

Makes a big difference, can't transfer of not on the same line. You will have to do the Best Buy method.

I'm not an expert on transferring upgrades (Verizon method) - I suggest tx_tuff or maybe dss2000. I would GUESS that you cannot transfer an upgrade if it is on a different billing account.

I only know about the BestBuy method. This method allows you to get a new device, extend your contract, and keep current calling plan even if Verizon no longer offers that calling plan.

Pretty sure you have to be on the family plan to transfer upgrades. Rumor has it Verizon is thinking about getting rid of alternate upgrades in the future.
