Upgrade is finally available on my crippled Note 3 (lollipop issues)! So my scenario is...

Line 1: UDP, Note 3
Line 2: TDP, Iphone6
Line 3: TDP, Iphone6+
Line 4: TDP, Galaxy S4

I was going to go bestbuy and xfer upgrade from line 1 to line 2, etc. bestbuy site won't let me do the xfer. Quick research seems like my nationwide text and talk plan might be the issue?

Anyway, figured I can do it on verizon instead, just want to check my understanding.

1. Xfer upgrade
2. Order Note 5 on line 2 and then activate it.
3. Then wait an hour, use it etc.
4. activate the new note 5 on line 1 and put the iphone back on line 2

Just want to make sure that will work and that I don't have to cut the sim down and do it the other way.

That should work. You can probably activate the iPhone 6 sim on your unlimited plan after the new phone comes. Then just swap the Sims.

This is my plan:
Line 1: UDP no upgrade (my line)
Line 2: TDP no upgrade - smart phone
Line 3: UDP: Upgrade - smart phone
Line 4: TDP no upgrade - smart phone
Line 5: Basic phone no upgrade.

I would like to swtich the upgrade from Line 3 to line 4. Then I would like to transfer the phone to Line 1. I would like to do this in Best Buy. The rep told me if I use and upgrade on my line and use that phone on my UDP plan that Verizon would take away my UDP. I have to have UDP I dont have internet at home, unable to get it where I live. Only have dishnet and its horrible. He said Verizon closed the loophole a few months ago...Thoughts??

Just do it online. Your plan will work.

Once I get it, I don't activate the phone. I take the SIM card from my old S4 phone and insert it into the S6 and then power it on right?

Bust Buy gives this msg "There's a change from Verizon Wireless for unlimited data plans.

Verizon Wireless has ended this plan option, so when you upgrade you'll be switched to their most common 2GB plan by default."

I should not be affected by this as long as I don't activate the phone when it comes in, right? Thanks.

What are talking about? They're tons of answers. People do ask the same questions all the time.

You should be fine. As long as you are activating your own phone and not dealing with VZW and phone upgrades through them you will not lose your UDP.

Yes, the SGS6 has a nano SIM card. I believe the S3 probably uses a micro SIM card so it won't fit. You'll either have to cut the micro SIM to fit nano, either by buying a SIM cutter online or using scissors, or take the S6 to a VAR and have them give you a new SIM card with your existing line info on it, they may charge you $10.

Quick question, I've got 2 UDP's and 2 Basic lines. I've logged into Best Buy but I cannot transfer my 1 eligible upgrade from my 1 UDP to my dummy line on their site, but I can transfer it on Verizonwireless.com. Should this method work much the same as the Best Buy method if I order through Verizon? Pop the sim from my wife's phone into the 6s once it arrives and carry on as usual? I did this last September and the "mandatory" data plan on the dummy line fell off after a few hours.. Anyone tried this lately?

I just ordered iphone 6s through Costco using my dad's upgrade and choose to ship it home.
I was wondering it is okay to put my sim card directily once the new iphone arrives or does he have to activate the new iphone and switch with me? Because I'm not living with him now..

I'm really confused on how to upgrade my cell through Best Buy's online site and also still keep UDP on my line. Currently, I have the following.

Plan: NATIONWIDE TLK&TXT SHARE 1400
Line 1: Droid Rzr Maxx HD with UDP; Upgrade Available
Line 2: Basic Cell (Convoy); Upgrade Available
Line 3: Basic Cell (Accolade): Upgrade Available

I've been holding on to my Maxx forever and dealing with a cracked screen for fear that if I upgrade I'll lose UDP. Unfortunately, the power button is no longer clickable so I'm no longer able to manually "wake" the screen. Now my cell only "wakes" if a call/text comes in or if I force "wake" it by plugging it into the charger. (Clearly, it's not the most convenient method to make a call or access apps...) I know it's only a matter of time before it finally shuts down for good so I'm hoping to upgrade my cell through Best Buy, but of course, I'd still really like to keep UDP on my line.

Is anyone able to please help me and walk me through the process? Thanks for any and all help!

Well now that Verizon no longer gives discounts on new Android phones you may as well pay full price. When you do that there is no issue keeping udp. Just make sure they know that when you buy it.

If you are buying the subsidized iPhone 6s there are posts way up somewhere in the thread that explain it but I haven't understood them.

What are you trying to do? How many lines do you have, what phone are on them, upgrade status and data plan.

The FALLPROMO is for the Note 5, droid Turbo and the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus.

Pick any of your lines. Order from Best Buy online only. Choose the 2gb data plan. When you get the Phone do not turn it on. Remove and destroy the SIM. Place your unlimited sim into the phone. You will be left with a pending activation. If you upgrade a basic line you can't change the phone or call *228 or you will be stuck with data on that line for 2 years.

What phone do you want? If it is a different size you may want to get the right size on your line before ordering.

Sorry I'm new here so I'm sorry if I've posted this already... I was thinking of the Samsung S6 Edge, but have read that the SIM will need cut down or that I'll need to purchase a new one from a Verizon contracted resale store. Do you know if this is correct?
