L3: Basic Line Yes

All lines are under contract except for the basic line which has the upgrade. Which would be the best way to use L3's upgrade for L2 without affecting L1 UDP? If I do DPP on L2 will that remove UDP or restrict me from doing a 2 year on L1 so I can keep UDP for $30?

Nothing you do with line 2 or 3 so effect line 1.

Ruined my phone so need to upgrade since im on a very old smart phone heres my question. Cant i jut go into bestbuy/verizon have them upgrade line 1 walk out with new phone and line 1 original. then when i get home power both phones off. Switch sims from my old udp phone to new phone so that will work on line 3. then active original line 1 phone back on line 1. Dont really want to wait for shipping.

The Bestbuy method is dead as you can't extend your contract 2 years anymore, and I was sitting on an upgrade I should have used it.

No more BBM on cellphones. Sad sad day. 2 year extension still available on tablets. I've read to take cell SIM, place into tablet, line is now effectively a 'tablet', order tablet through BBM on 2 year contract, place 'tablet' SIM back into cellphone. 2 year contract renewed. No idea if this actually works, sounded like a decent idea. Still clutching to my two $29.99 UDP lines until contract is up in March of 2018.

I have a line up in October, hopefully this will work for that line. It is annoying that the tablet subsidy is worth much less then the phone subsidy were worth.

No, it won't work as you are unable to use a tablet line to upgrade a smartphone.

Not necessarily that BB is dead but there is no more 2 year contacts. So any method of getting a new subsidized phone on a 2 year contract is dead.

As far as your UDP it is still there, you will either be buying a phone or right out payment plan and you can keep UDP with both of those.

The problem now is once you are out of your 2 year contract they can say you are using to much data and kick you out of your UDP. I don't know what that threshold is, haven't heard of it really happening to anybody, but now is a prime time for them to start.

Yep. They are slowly moving the bar down till something like 50 GB will be overkill for them on an "unlimited" plan.

Next will probably be another price increase for the next batch of people coming off contract. They would get me off it if by then they lowered the line access fees on the Verizon plan from $80 a month for 1 smart phone and 2 dummy phones.
