Interesting how Verizon is marketing the One and the X compared to the new Droid line

It's not surprising. Almost two years ago when the HTC Rezound hit, best specs at the time, better reviews on most sites than the GNex, it got one lousy commercial that pretty much said the phone was loud. They pushed the Motos over both the Rezound and the GNex. Maybe they push them because they have a vested interest in that line because they obviously aren't trying to push their best devices.
