Has anyone used the invisible shield by zagg? On BB.com, there is like two reviews for it, and they hate it. Apparently it reduces the sensitivity; does anyone know if it uses a glue as an applicator?

Just wanna hear some personal testimonies.

It uses water. People really seem to hate them. I have it on my Incredible and have it on a ton of other devices, and I have no issues with it. If you install it properly it won't feel sticky (once it dries completely). The only time you see an "orange peel" effect is when the screen is off. When the screen is on you can't even tell it's there. People also say that some screen protectors scratch. Never had that issue with any Zagg protector I've used. I have one on my laptop and beat the crap out of it, and you cannot tell the difference. To each their own.

Also, I haven't noticed any reduction in sensitivity. Then again I put it on the device right out of the box so I wouldn't know the difference anyway. My Incredible still responds perfectly, and I've never had any issues with it. I have the full body with Verizon's Body Glove case. Seems to be a perfect combination for me.

i have it and its absolutely fine no difference in sensitivity. my only complaint is there are a few bubbles that didnt go away.

If it's installed right, it will be clear and no bubbles. As for sensativity, there isn't a difference to me other than it's a little harder to swipe. The shield has a slightly tacky feel. But I am used to it and like it.

Just happy to know that you don't have to apply a substance to the phone itself. It's worth a shot I guess if you're not hurting your phone.

Have you had any noticeable reduction in touch sensitivity?

Nope. To be perfectly honest, the one on the laptop that I am using right now covers the touch pad. It's just as responsive as it was before I put the Zagg protector on it. The only time that it's not as responsive and feels gluey/rubbery/whatever you want to call it is when it's still wet. It takes a few days for it to completely dry out. Then yes, it is still a TINY bit tacky, but the screen should be smooth. I think people are just used to the Steinheil's and the other ones that retain the feel of the stock screen 100%, but those also scratch from what I understand.

I added some pictures of my phone to this post. I tried to capture the "orange peel" effect with the camera in the one where the screen is off and it's on an angle. You have to look hard to see it, and the camera didn't pick it up. This thing does like finger prints, but you can always wipe them off.

No you put the water on the shield and then put it on the phone and squeegee it out away from any ports. I used a ton of it and my phone is perfectly fine. I also did it in steamy bathroom to get rid of any dust. It went on perfectly.

I wasn't a fan of them at all. I had them on a couple of BlackBerries and mine never stopped being sticky. I use PhantomSkinz and like them much more. You get two for the price of one Invisible Shield

They're designed to be SLIGHTLY sticky. I also used a 50% off discount code for mine this time around. Not sure if they are still giving them out if you enter in the iPad give away.

I recently had Best Buy install an Invisible Screen on my phone. Prior to that I had the VZW screen protector and no screen protector. After the change from VZW to bare screen I notice a feeling difference, and again once the IS was installed. In each case, I only noticed it that first time using it. After a few used, I couldn't tell the difference...and the sensitivity has been the same throughout.

As far as screen protector scratches? That's why the VZW protector came off. I haven't yet scratched the Zagg, but I'm guessing it's only a matter of time! It funny, I never used screen protectors on my Storm, and that screen never scratched. I wonder why I'm worried about it now.

This is from their website and would explain the "orange peel" look many people describe. What they state is true though.

The authentic invisibleSHIELD film features Nano-Memory technology - the WOW factor of the invisibleSHIELD! Nano-Memory technology is visible as a very subtle texture in the surface of the film. This superior component of the invisibleSHIELD offers four main competitive benefits:

* DURABILITY - Self-healing properties offer unbelievable resistance to scratches and damage, and will extend the life of your device.

* COVERAGE - Greater pliability and flexibility allows the invisibleSHIELD designs to cover the corners and curves of your device better than the competition.

* EASE OF INSTALL ? The improved pliability also facilitates easier installation.

* LOW-RISK DROP RESISTANT ? Improved grip makes it easier to hang onto your expensive gadgets while lowering the risk of your device slipping out of your hands.

Yeah, just remember it's going to feel/look like crap for the first at least 24 hours. As many of them as I've done, that part always gets me. It makes you wonder if it's ever going to be worth the time you spent putting it on properly. I think mine took a few days to dry up, but I also doused it with water so I wouldn't get any dust under it. :D

If you get bubbles under the screen reapply it until there aren't any. Otherwise, they pretty much will never leave. They may go down over time, but it's easier to just deal with it when you are applying it.

Best Buy installed mine and did a great job. The texture IS different and it is a little less smooth. I damaged the Zagg and have ordered a replacement.

In the meantime I am test-driving Phantom Skinz. Much smoother, but I have yet to achieve a good install. They are also sending replacements to me. I may give the Seido one a try next. See the review on this board.
