Iphone for VM, confirmed?

That is one of the best reasons to buy a iPhone, Apple refuses to cave to carriers wanting to put that crap on the phone. However that was under Jobs command. But I would almost guarantee there wont be the VM crapware installed.

lol come on man...the iphone...a little VM DOWNLOADS...whats not to like???

You severely under estimate the stupid in this country.
Besides, it will pay for itself in well under a year compared to a post paid.

It will probably be the most profitable Iphone out since they aren't subsidizing the hell out of it.

You are probably right, I was thinking from the prospective of an unemployed college student who lives with his gf lol. Thinking back most people with a job who are being overcharged will probably switch.

Re: Text from VM

I'm not spending $500 on an iPhone just so I can have the same crappy service on a more expensive phone. If they add roaming for a small additional fee, then I would consider it.

This is the fifth thread about the iPhone coming to VM. We don't even need one thread about this topic, since this is an android forum and we all no that no one (or very few) will go to the iPhone for the exorbitant price they are asking.

Re: Text from VM

I agree with anthonycr. I think if a contract were offered on Virgin Mobile USA for the iPhone, that might help. I know, I know, Virgin's big thing is their no-contract system.
But, I know that the reason I used to want an iPhone on Virgin Mobile was $30 monthly as opposed to maybe about twice that much on at&t.....

Re: Yup, iphone

They're selling a horrible phone for an even worse price. I wouldn't pay $50 for that piece of junk....

Iphones aren't bad. Infact, they are great. Their build quality is superior and the response of the touch screen is uncomparable from any phone.

That being said, I still choose Android over Iphone due to the insane customization it has. Iphone is far to simple for my taste. Also Itune sucks beyond speaking of.

If Iphone had the customization and freedom Androids have, the Iphone would have no competition with anyone.

Although people like Iphone BECAUSE they are so simple. You pick one up and you know it inside out within 5 minutes. Some people need that since they don't have time or don't have the desire to care. If I didn't have so much time on my hands, I would of chosen a Iphone aswell.

Im not sore, Im pissed the hell off. But mostly at myself. My research on what phone to get failed miserably. I initially thought roms would be swap-able like they are with the optimus. For the record we have some smart people in the sgs4g community, but they arent working together like the optimus community does.
If you play with a phone, the community can make or break the whole thing. I have heard similar stories on other phones as well.

I agree though, the Iphone does (for the most part) just simply work. Which is what most people want. However, Iphones have caused me more grief than almost any other phone I deal with and I'm sorry, but they just seem dated.

It's like Linux, it does everything it does PERFECT, but as soon as you stray from the norm, heaven help you. In Linux you can get help, on an Iphone, you simply can't stray too far before running into roadblocks. The last time I worked with one, it was IOS5 (?) and I was asked to import contacts and calendar from a Palm Pre. On Android this would be a cinch. On IOS, it turned into a weekend of trial and error converting it to something, then converting that, and getting that to work, without duplicates and other issues. I tried tutorial after tutorial, and nothing wanted to work right, but I eventually managed it, only to later find the Iphone wouldn't sync properly to Gmail. granted I'm not an Iphone guru but after 4 hours I was stumped. In the end, it took Apple tech support 2 hours to get it to import. I don't know how good the final results were.

Even after all that though, it's tempting. Even with an Evo V, it's tempting, but only because they generally just work and have a good aftermarket. Every time I consider one though, I want to kick myself.

Re: Text from VM

I've seen the iPhone 4S on the news for VM. It says " Virgin mobile is Trying to get the iPhone 4S on their network, along with all the added stuff. Can they pull it off with the no contract? "

Who do they feel the need to send a text to us because they're getting an iPhone? Seems unnecessary to me

But if you drop it without a case your screwed.

That phone is quite popular. iPhone would have me if it could run 4.0 with the buttons on it.
