Is anyone going to stay on "Froyo"? Just curious to see if anyone will adopt a "wait and see" attitude towards Gingerbread.
I wouldn't count on remaining undetected for root and tethering if you're simply on Froyo. If they send an update your way and it fails, if may be possible for them to know that you're rooted.

I'm on Liberty 2.0.1 Froyo Based and will probably keep it for awhile. I don't tether much mut do occasionally and have heard that Gingerbread contains some sort of tracking device to see if you are tethering or rooted. I've also heard that some su apps including Wireless Tether won't work correctly, so I'll keep Froyo.
QFT... I tether every now and then, and don't need my balls busted for a few hundred MB of tether data. (And to the ppl that are using unauthorized tethering to play PS3/Xbox Live..... thanks for firing up those flares.)
Im only on stock Froyo, and am a little confused about flashing Liberty.... can't find a concise set of install instructions. How did you do it, Diesteldorf?

You know, the more I am thinking about it, the more I am considering staying on Froyo permanently.
Here's why:
I have absolutely no issues with the stock 2.2.1 build that we are currently on. I am rooted (Z4root), have Netflix working (thanks to the hacked .apk over @ XDA), & still have ability to use Wireless Tether in extreme situations (I am not an abuser & probably haven't even used 200MB total since I rooted back in November...I just like knowing that it's there if I REALLY need it.) I use LauncherPro so I really don't want to go back to the Blur launcher (not even the new/improved one). My battery life will more than get me through the day even with heavy use & my DX is plenty fast for everything I am currently using it for.
I haven't decided with 100% certainty yet on if I want to forgo the Gingerbread OTA, but that is how I am currently leaning. Anyone care to weigh in?
