I am having to manually sync to get my emails. I read some other phones were affected but I cannot seem to find anything that says this is an issue with the S7 Edge...

Which app are you using? I am using both the stock Samsung and Gmail apps and both sync fine. For the Samsung app, you can set the poll interval

I am using the Gmail app. To test it now again, I sent an email to myself from another email accout to my Gmail address and it arrived right away. However, my Edge still shows nothing and it has been 10 minutes...

A lot of galaxy phone have problems with the "Push" notifications. Had this problem with the S6 and Note 5.
Please post if you find a solution.

this is a google issue not phone related. they were supposed to release a fix server side that would fix it. its been a couple months and its random really, i still have to manually refresh on my nexus6

I am having this problem as well. I may have to switch to a different email client if this continues. I use Gmail for business. And it's bad business to leave my clients hanging for hours on end.

Yeah, I don't think it is necessarily the phone. It was happening quite frequently on my Nexus 5x until I swapped it for the Edge.

yeah having this as well and don't think it's a phone issue. See it on my work iphone as well

it's def a server side issue for gmail, they've been working on it, but a 100% working solution hasn't been found yet

I use Gmail and it pushes emails when I get them for other things / from the forums.

i think this is why it's been taking google so long to fix it, it's not a consistent bug (i personally have no gmail issues, but my friend does, and he has had them on a G4, a V10, and now his S7E) and somewhat hard to consistently replicate what triggers it for some people.

Just started having this issue, I was thinking, man I have not received any email lately from Gmail, did a manual pull to refresh them boom, 8-10 emails come down.

Not good. Didn't had this issue on last phone IP6S+ but do now.

Not sure if it's edge related but I am now also getting 25+ text messages a day from AT&T but that's a whole other issue.

I kinda like that i dont get the "push". Gmails. I just refresh it when i have to..

The only time I have a similar issue is when I check my Gmail first thing in the morning, and for whatever reason the last mails pushed came in around 3 a.m., so I have to manually refresh to get the remainder. Push works fine after that. It was the same on my previous phone, so it doesn't appear to be S7/S7E-specific.

I set up gmail on my samsung stock email app now it always comes through immediately. It's something to do with the gmail app. If it is a server side issue as many have said why do I get gmail immediately pushed through samsung app?

it seems to be an issue with the way the app interfaces with their servers. so it's an app/server issue, most of the time for users who are having the issue, changing to a different app usually works.

Yep. I don't get any notifications for a lot of emails. I'm using Inbox with push turned on.

I'm having the same issue with not receiving Gmail notifications. Sometimes it works, but often it doesn't, especially first thing in the morning. I didn't have this issue on my S6 Edge.

My both S7 Edge have the same syncing issues with Gmail, contacts, calendar, Facebook and other.... So I turned OFF the optimize battery usage individually. Those apps are syncing fine now.
