There hasn't been an update to GTALK in awhile and it seems like it's lagging behind BBM or Imessage. I was curious about google+ messenger. If you do a videochat on GTALK, it brings up the HANGOUT feature on google+.

Is GTALK going to end up just being google+ messenger? I love GTALK, I just wish they would update the damn thing.

Google+ is the latest update on google, so it have all popular features, i hope it is not for replacing gtalk,

i feel it is the competitive site for facebook . Lol:D

They just need to merge the two messaging services. Would make things much simpler and may even bring more people into G+

This. I didn't even see this topic yesterday as I was looking around, but I have been wanting this for a while. Might help encourage more people to dive deeper into G+ as well. gTalk has been missing group messaging functions since, well, since forever and you see how popular that feature is with G+. I see more people using their G+ for the SINGLE purpose of simple group chatting.

I really hope so...

I am an advocate of G+ but even I find the overlap between gtalk/g+ confusing. I love how you can jump back and forth between gtalk on your phone and desktop, but the redundant platforms makes it confusing. In order for G+ to take off I really think that they need to sort this out.

I think it's dumb to have two apps on my phone..no one uses google+ messaging (with my group of friends anyways). Some will use Google Talk but that's only if I message them on it first. I was really hoping Google + would take off but sometimes I feel like Google is sinking money into a sinking ship. That's just my opinion though. I hate how we have to get approved to message someone on G talk on both ends. Every time I send someone a request, they don't get a notification for it and they end up having to send me a request as I'm the only one who can get them show up. I guess that's just the nature of the beast though.

I didn't hear the news like this and the Google Talk app is bundled with the Android OS and AFAIK it has never been accessible as a separate download from the Android Market. The Google Voice app is a separate application for a different Google service.

They should merge gtalk and Google+ messenger together. As long your able to still use it without having to be logged in to google + itll be fine. In my opinion it is really the only reason I use g+ because the messenger has notifications like BBM.

No, i don't think so that Google will replace Google Talk to Google +. Because Google Talk is locally use by many companies. So why they will replace.
