Is google pixel display problem real?

From DisplayMate's analysis of the display:

· High Screen Brightness and Performance in High Ambient Light

Mobile displays are often used under relatively bright ambient lighting, which washes out the image color saturation and contrast, reducing picture quality and making it harder to view or read the screen. To be usable in high ambient light a display needs a dual combination of high Screen Brightness and low Screen Reflectance – the Pixel 3 XL has both. This is extremely important for screen readability, picture quality, and color accuracy in ambient light.

I have no issues in Bright sunlight with sunglasses on to see the display.

I have heard different reviewers complained about it's not as bright as they wish when it's outside, but i also think that's objective since people eyes aren't the same. Do we know what's the nits measurement for the display? I vaguely remember it's 400? I personally haven't really use the phone outside yet. Can't really try it today either since it's a cloudy day out.

The screen is not the brightest at least when I compare with my XS Max. And yes, it's get worse in sunlight but not as bad as it can be.

Does this leave you in a position that you can't use the screen? I don't think so.

As said previously, it isn't as bright as iPhone XS Max, but it is plenty bright and very readable in the sun. Battery life is solid for me as well. It is an excellent display this year, one of the best.

Compared to iPhone Xs Max and Note 9, S9 it's little dimmer. More closer to Xs Max and definitely not a problem that it's unusable.
More over we don't get that much sun in Seattle area anyway so not that big of a deal to me

I wouldn't call it a problem or issue.

There are some opportunities there for screen brightness in daylight. But my Pixel 3 xl is a lot better than my wife's Pixel 2 (non xl).

Glad the rest of y'all can see the screen in sunlight's, cause I can bearly tell what I'm doing, and can't hardly tell then.

Seriously though folks, its not that I or other wants to complain, problems with the 3/XL are real and the reviews talking about them are also real and they do a good job by posting those reviews after using the device for themselves.

Here is a good list of all issues if you are keen to know what they are: https://www.androidauthority.com/google-pixel-3-xl-problems-fixes-918751/

I can confirm I see most or all of those issues listed in Android Authority and yes, the display issue is an issue but not to the extent of your phone not being usable.

There are valid issues sure, but there are lots of people who don't even own the device and talk as if it is the worst device ever made. And as far as reviewers majority of them know less than most people in these kind of forums and most of the time they are looking for clicks/views based on what their analytics say and is trending. They are not making reviews/videos in the best interest of the viewer.

That's my opinion and everyone is entitled to their own

I think the XDA list ing a bit more comprehensive and at least include a response from Google what they are addressing.

Really a number of the concerns are being addressed, some are "as intended".
