That the 3G Xoom is no longer featured on the front page of Verizon Wireless site but the iPad2 is front and center?

I'm still struggling to decide if I want the 3G or WiFi version...

For as dependent as I see becoming on using the Xoom and as often as I am somewhere that there isn't any [good or reliable ] Wifi available, I am glad I bought the 3g and Wifi Verizon version. Also the tethering works quite well. It's gonna be hard tp part with it for 6 days plus shipping each direction to get the 4G LTE upgrade done.

I hear you on this one.

I have the 3G version and I'm glad I got it, before I bought it I thought I was only going to get it to cancel my plan right away and only tether from my Evo, as it turns out I want to use my tablet a lot more without killing my phone's battery.

That being said if you always have easy access to wifi, it's worth it to consider it.

Yes
Buy an ipad
and then find an apple forum

Now why turn them away like that? No its not a bad sign. With wifi out they know most people will look at other stores for the wifi only. Its a awesome device but try them both out and see what is best for you. If you go Xoom most of us are here to help with any questions.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I need the 3G version, but was trying to wait until the 4G upgrade was already done...but getting a little impatient...

I told myself I was going to buy the Verizon no contract Xoom once they started selling with 4G.... until they came out with wifi only, lol. I have wifi at home, school, and work, which covers me 95% of the time.

really, why waste thousands of dollars on another cell phone gold mine for Verizon; the wifi one is awesum, and wifi is almost everywhere now, and more hotspots are coming online every day..
think about how many thousands extra you are putting in Verizons pocket when you sign a contract for that...

I just picked up a Wifi version today. This thing is awesome. I was holding off because I really didn't need a 3G version. That's what my Android phone is for.

I agree wifi is very prevalent - only concern would be at work - no "public" wifi or while traveling in the car - but I guess I could just tether with my EVO...

decisions...decisions...

yea, I plan on tethering to the evo when necessary as well..
the hell with making the cellular carriers any richer than we do already!!!!!

Ill tether. Screw Verizon. I carry a spare evo battery with me also so I'm not too worried about battery drainage. With CM7 I get a full day put of my evo with one battery so with some tethering and two batteries ill be just fine. 2 year contract with Verizon = 240. Extra battery = 50

I have the best of both worlds on iphone 4 that has great 3g speed where i live and then when I do travel I kick on the 3g from verizon. Ive heard LTE will show up in KC late summer so even better when i can drop my tethering plan for some serious connectivity!
