Is it possible that there will be an update on March 11 that fixes minor issues?

If there are problems like Bluetooth volume and image "yellowing", I would think they could just update it. I think the bigger problem is that do the Carriers have to then go through and recheck the software update before they send it out. Most of the problems I am hearing can be fixed with a simple software update.

I would think there is a zero chance of an update coming that quick, maybe in early April at best.

Only my thoughts though.

A day zero bug fix OTA is never out of the question, but that would require the carriers to be on board with it too. I don't know the odds of that happening, but I would say they aren't great.

Ok lets try this again. The T-Mobile S6 had an update waiting upon activation last year, Same exact scenario as this year, The pre orders that shipped early well before the official release date.

Was the update pushed on the exact same day as the release date last year?

The phones were shipped like 2 weeks early. Same thing as this year. The update was waiting.

I found the article in the archives also:

"Receive your Samsung Galaxy S6 or S6 Edge from T-Mobile already? Expect a software update almost immediately. According to T-Mobile support, a day 1 update is supposed to be ready for each, an update that wipes out some bugs and brings some stability to this year’s flagship line from the Korean manufacturer."

This still doesn't help the original poster. But in last years case as odd as it may be, they must have found something wrong. Because they had a update waiting on the servers before the phone was even released.

It's not that odd. Given production schedules, shipping times, etc, the software that's flashed on the phone is probably 4-6 weeks old when you get it.

There could be cases where the phones were not shipped by boat, in which case the software could be that much newer.

Ummm, hate to break this to you, but Samsung and updates really don't like each other.

There very well could be an update soon after launch. There's no better test than those early customers... And the few criticisms I've read are very consistent... And all fixable.
