Is it worth upgrading to the S9 from the S8? Or just a spec bump?

Unless you care so much about the Camera, clearly this seems to be the selling point but I thunk a flagship can last you 2 years that you can wait for the S10.

Then again I ranted about how these flagship have amazing cameras that I highly doubt one can really tell the difference between the S8 or even the S7 when comparing it to the S9 especially if you're just uploading it to social media.

Yes it is just a spec bump.

agreed. for most folks usage, a typical smartphone camera is good enough

I feel that if u r going for a new phone go for a S8 however if u r a fan of slow mo n into photography then go for the s9

i think its a worth upgrade, all new camera will help s9 to stay top for the whole year..

I think I'm going to hold out one more year before I ditch my S7 Edge; it still does everything I need it to do.

In my opinion no,it does not have audio jack,at least i heard so,and it will probably be a mild upgrade from s8,if you have smth like me s3 then upgrade, but if you have 7 or 8 its just not worth it.

It has an audio jack.

I've been afk most of the day, so have missed a lot of the news/details on the S9 announcement today. Getting caught up now, but initial reports seem to suggest the S9 is 'mostly' a spec bump over the S8. Updated internals, a faster phone, a more solid and polished build... but the two things I'm starting to read about more and more are a) the camera is spectacular, and b) the fingerprint sensor is now where it should be.

What do you think - is the S9 simply a spec bump, or a worthwhile upgrade from the S8?

s8 plus is fine!

I was thinking of waiting for the Note 9, but I got this on the Samsung upgrade so I will trade up to the big 10 next year. That should be an amazing phone. I don't think my S7edge would last 12 months.

At this point in bland yearly releases, you need to wait at least 2 years for the bump in specs is noticable.

I agree with you. Waiting even a year and a half and upgrading to a different manufacturer would give you a bit of a different flavour and also some spec bumps... But in reality, the way I see it is this: "S8 - great camera"; "S9 - camera is still great". I'm sure it's awesome but I can't justify yearly upgrades from the same manufacturer.

The only reason to do yearly upgrades in my book is if you are on a yearly upgrade plan from a carrier. If not, don't bother.

While some people believe that it's worth to upgrade to S9, I may argue that if you have S8/S8+ it's not 'truly necessary' to upgrade to S9/S9+ instantly. This is because S8 has all the necessary features which have been simply upgraded to S9. However, if you have S7 or iPhone 7 - jump to S9 (no question about that!). To be honest, S9 is the greatest innovation of all mobile companies so far.
If you are struggling with fingerprint sensor in S8, you may go for S9 - Maybe the only reason!

As per my knowledge, it is worth to upgrade S9 plus.. Because it has offer amazing new features such as all new dual camera with dual aperture which is f/1.5 and f/2.4, slow motion 960 fps and all new processor.
Thanks.
