I don't think its woryh upgrading from an S8, not even from an S7. The S10/X is going to be released next year that should be THE upgrade to get.
Once Samsung stopped using the faster SoC for the Note and made the battery noticably smaller than the S line, the Note stopped being really compelling. You can get 95% of Note features in the Sx+ model. If Samsung returned to bigger battery, refreshed SoC and Pen, that would renew interest. As it stands, Samsung is purposefully letting the Note line whither on the vine.
