Is my X spying on me?

As I write this I am sitting alone in total silence. Every 30 seconds or so I hear what sounds like the camera shutter, only much quieter. It only does it when the phone is being used, not while I have it sitting on the table doing nothing.

I've rooted the phone and have a screen capture app, so maybe that could be it but I don't think so.

Im interested to see if anyone else sees this with theirs.

Put down the bong and don't be so paranoid. ;) Haha!

Seriously though, no, I have never heard any type of camera sound come from my phone unless I am actually using the camera.

After further listening it doesn't sound like a camera shutter. It sounds like a camera lens zooming in and out. That mechanical 'whiiirrr' sound.

However, to answer your original question ... the X is connected to the internet and with Gmail that features instant sync of email, contacts and calendar (if used). Any time you are tapped into the internet, there are always chances of compromised privacy. These days, I doubt anyone has any privacy any more. So maybe it's a non-issue?? (hope not).

I would deny shoot me and see if it still happens, maybe it is accessing the camera, but I would not say that means the app is spying.
