Is owning a Nexus 6 in 2016 worth sticking with?

I dont see this phone ever being outdated speed wise. I think we've hit the plateau. Now its gadgets (finger print scanners etcl that I'm just not interested in anyways. With the n6 and gravity box i dont even need a custom rom. Things just a hoss. Never slows down, good camera. Not much else to say.

I have had my Nexus 6 since the middle of last year, after falling out of love with my Samsung Galaxy S5. It is the best phone i have had, and i love it. It cost me AUD$520.00 in June last year. The biggest criticism of the phone is that it is too large, i find it perfect, with it's curved back it nestles comfortably and safely in my hand. It has a brilliant screen, processor speed, and an excellent camera. If you are happy with the size of the phone (like I am) stick with it, the 6P has a smaller screen and at the moment is a lot more expensive!

I've had my Nexus 6 for just over a year now. I plan on using it at least another year. It's a great device.

a A week and a half ago I snagged a great Cloud White 64GB Nexus 6 in perfect condition with 2 spigen cases for $300 on swappa. Originally I wanted a 6p but after realizing most everything I wanted from a smartphone was decent/great hardware with fantastic (clean & smooth) software the decision was easy. After applying a glass screen protector (it came with matte plastic on it, destroyed the clarity IMO) from amazon and a ringke fusion smoke case I'm all set until the 6p or even the Note 5 hits $250-300. Great choice in phones BTW ;)

Very true. I don't really need a fingerprint scanner because I always have my device in my pocket or in my hand a lot of the time. Plus I can't understand the concept of adding and extra step to use the phone. Security wise I can understand but its not a big deal to me. Yeah I'm gonna save my money. :-)

The fingerprint sensor is actually faster to use than any other unlock method.
Just saying, since from that comment it seems like you think you'd have to use your patter/pin/password and then your fingerprint scanner or some combination. All you need to do is put your finger on the sensor, and it's unlocked, which is 2 less steps than any other method.
I have Nexus 6 and the fingerprint sensor isn't a big deal to me (like you); I'm staying with Nexus 6 until Nexii 2017 come out.

I just bought one from eBay, brand new in the box, for $300. I hope to have it on monday.

Have 6P and had 6 before. Was going to buy one from eBay and then Google offered their crazy good 5x deal on project fi. I got 32gb for $250. I am presently surprised. Always had big phones but this 5.2 inch screen phone is amazing. Just my thoughts.

For me it is. Never again will I pay a premium price for a newly released phone. Back on January 2015, I paid $750 for my 64gb Nexus 6. I could buy one now for $300. Was it worth the $450 "depreciation" to be an early adopter? Hell NO! Depending on what the next Nexus is, I'll either stick with my N6 until 6-8 months after it is released or I'll pick up a 6P when they're closing them out.

To pay $549 for a 64GB or $649 for a 128GB N6P is absolutely out of the question. When they close them out, they'll be $250-$300. Then I might get one.

Same thoughts here. Picked mine up when they went down to $300ish.

NEXUS 6 and big hands, a win win.

I've had my N6 since its initial release date and I don't plan on "upgrading" or getting rid of it, any time soon...
The Nexus 6P, LG G4 & Samsung Galaxy S7 are all nice and each have the strong points. To me, Its not enough of an upgrade at this time to justify buying another phone.

I'm sticking with my Nexus 6 for as long as I possibly can, and I'm happy about it.

Nexus 6

I have an Aluminum 32 GB 6P that I bought in the beginning of December. Up until the release of the 6P I kept going back and forth over the Nexus 6, but just couldn't bring myself to get one because of the whole expanding battery drama. I did like the feel in hand, though, as well as the screen and the speakers. In terms of dimensions, I would've preferred the 6, because I like the idea of being able to type comfortably on the wider screen.

Having said that, I'm quite happy with the 6P. The screen is great, as well as the speakers. Once you use a fingerprint scanner, there's no going back. The one on the 6P is fast, accurate, and a breeze to set up. I use it exclusively to unlock the phone.

Battery life has been great for me, from the start. With mixed usage, I consistently get anywhere from 4.5 to 6.5 hours SOT. I've reached 7 hours three times, with a peak time of 8 hours SOT. The next Nexus will really have to blow me away for me to part with my 6P.

Unless it comes with a 4000 mAh battery and the SD 820 shows a marked improvement in speed and performance, all this needs to be the "perfect" phone for me is split screen multitasking, and a way to keep Doze active with movement, triggering it off with a press of the Power button or a fingerprint unlock. Those, along with keeping Night Mode for the OS are supposedly in Android N, so I'm a happy camper.

I got my N6 on day one, pre-ordered it. And i don't think even the next nexus is gonna be able to convince me to give it up. As long as it gets updates i'm keeping it. It still runs buttery smooth like the day i first started it. Thats all i want, updates n buttery smooth.

It does and it doesn't. Battery life is okayish. I still have to charge my phone after 6 hours each time. In hand it doesn't feel like a premium device anymore. I don't know if the 6P has better battery life.

I also have a Nexus 6, and it's still a great device, and I don't have to charge it every six hours, what exactly are you doing with the phone, if your are constantly on it, yes you will need to charge it more often.
