Is the camera any better?

I have another question.....

Basically the only difference I see between Note and S20 are colors and skin tones. I find it hard to believe that it has anything to do with hardware but more so just software tweaking and perhaps UI 2.1 "features". What do you think?
Isn't the sensor different on the Ultra and Note? I think the Ultra uses the new Samsung camera module while the regular S20 and previous Samsung use the Sony sensors. The new sensors on the Ultra are the ones with focus issues. The skin tones, smoothening yeah that's more of the processing algorithm which Samsung is never the best anyway. The processing comes down to preference I guess, I don't prefer the Samsung processing that much compared to iPhone or Pixel but that's more of a subjective thing.

Well I have Note and small S20, not Ultra. The processing on S20 seems better, but I just dont think it has anything to do with hardware. Could it be that Samsung just alerted processing to make it seem like S20 has better top of the line hardware?

Yeah definitely they would have tweaked the processing algorithms on the S20. They are constantly working on that. Whether or not it'll get to a point where it's up with the best is a question but it's not like they are OnePlus bad or anything like that. It's just they are under more scrutiny like they should be because they are competing at the highest level.

Hey , lol
My 1+7P is a capable shooter , plus I have a pop up camera

If cameras are that important, I recommend people buy a Pixel or iPhone anyway.

Some of us are here because of the other flaws of the Pixel 4. Such as no wide angle camera lens, and no finger print sensor. If they had those 2 features (important to me and many others I hear), the Pixel 4 would have been a hit.

Yep, if Pixel 4 had wide angle, I'd probably buy that instead. I am almost positive they left it out in order to make it a major selling point with Pixel 5

I've had my S20 Ultra since Monday. Here's my quick thoughts.

The new zoom is legit especially in bright light with stationary objects. My Note 10+ can't compare in these situations.

However I find my Note 10+ to have more refined detail when I shoot landscapes. Taking pictures of the woods in my backyard is where this jumps out. The detail in the pine needles and small branches is significantly better. Your average user snapping shots for their Insta feed wouldn't notice but they are there.

Overall color, smoothing and very similar which is not surprising since they are both Samsung.

I'll try to get a link up to a comparison gallery tomorrow

I've been taking pics all night with my S10 and S20U and I can't believe even the 108mp isn't really helping the S20U provide more detail. Also the S10's colors are more true to what my eyes see. Like I was trying to get the S20U to be better and I couldn't. Can you tell what camera is which from the two images below? I was using the 108mp with the ultra btw. Which pic looks better.

Can't appreciate the difference 108 would make because of the reduction in uploading.

1st is S10? My S20 makes images too saturated

Well I can assure you I zoomed in on them both and wasn't seeing anymore detail out of the 108mp shot but anyway, which photo looks better the way they sit here all compressed and everything, the 1rst one or the 2nd? Don't be afraid to answer honestly. :D

Yup. And notice more blur at the top of the S20U pic. My S10 sadly takes better and more accurate photos, color is much more closer to what my eyes see. I have so many examples I could upload but what's the point...the S20U failed to deliver in multiple ways for me. Its only good for outdoor well lit zoom shots to be honest. That's the only thing the camera betters my S10 at.

On there own they are nice pics but compared, I personally like the top pic... the weave is consistently sharp all around where doesn’t seem on the pic below. And focus seems consistent through entire pic above including the sharpness in the wood grain.

Is it bad to shoot videos at night with the flash ? I got a warning not to shoot more then 10 minutes with flash or phone could overheat.

Yup, so much for mega detailed 108mp lol.

Possible. Video recording + real-time processing + light running could put a strain on it. When I'm filming long events I'll actually turn some stuff off like image stabilization to keep it running cooler over the long haul. My S7 would overheat and shut down with everything running and recording for long durations. If you need to do it I would at least turn some of the real time processing off like image stabilization.
