Is the HTC 10 priced too high?

Actually at the end of the day people vote with their wallets.

They have been and they have not been kind to HTC, and probably will continue to do so. The only way this phone could succeed is if it was priced accordingly at $500-$550. Or they had some killer feature only available on this phone which they do not. And it's time those antenna bands go away. This is the 4th time with essentially the same design and it's even worse cause the phone is now thicker.

Even Apple and Samsung still have the bands you speak of. LG doesn't, because they have their antennas on the surface and covered them with paint. I'm getting the sense that won't age well.

Re: Priced too high?

No it's not more people are going to prepaid. I have sprint and dying to get off this contract.

700 is too high for any phone and usually only hardcore iPhone people are gonna spend that.

Also sometimes carriers suck and may have issues with phones throughout the 2 years and a customer may wanna switch carriers.

Sometimes you just wanna go somewhere cheaper.

You csn buy a nexus 6p for less and it will last 2 years and csn be used on pretty MI h all carriers.

HTC charging 700 is dumb, only hardware htc fans will buy it. Arrives have to push it hard and I don't see thst happening over Samsung phones.

Cheap people are gonna get a 300 phone and under smartphone and pay 45 a month.

I am still using my M7 and I switched from Sprint to Ting. My phone bill for the past 6 months has been $23.77 each month taxes included. And to top it off Ting uses Sprint so I am using the exact network I had. When my M7 goes to phone heaven I will buy a $300 or $400 phone. $700 is crazy.

$1,000 is even crazier. Not sure whose argument Momo thinks is weak...

When it was first announced I was a bit disappointed with the price. The $100 drop lowered it to a more acceptable range. My phone buying choices are limited to unlocked varieties. I've been waiting for HTC to make this phone for several years. Now my wait is over. Well... except for the waiting on shipment.

Tried several times, the coupon code doesn't work for me in Belgium/Europe.
Guess i'll have to wait or pay the full price

The coupon code is region specific for Canada it is HTCCA1008 and the USA it's HTC1008.Haven't seen any other codes for other regions.

I feel like HTC has the right to bump up their price tag. Looks like they've done some massive improvements on the device. Also, many different Android corporations are pulling out big price points for their brand-new devices... I think that's just the "cost" (LOOL pun) of upgrading to the latest and greatest. If someone wants the newest phone now, they will shell out that money or, as other users have stated, they will go on a contract and pay monthly. I've taught myself not to jump to a brand new phone and wait for when the one I really want drops in price (or even goes down to $0... That wait is hard lool!)... But yeah, some people will pay for those new devices now.

If it's a flagship device, it should be higher priced, IMO; because it deserves to stand among the rest as being of higher quality. If your user experience is going to be "better (a subjective term, obviously; but cell phone companies will tell you this all the time, so they give it their own definitions and run with it)," they will amp up the price.

Good for you for sticking it out; and Happy Phone Day when your precious cargo arrives! :)

Any company has the right to price their products however they want. By no means should it be "bumped" due to massive improvements!! That's ridiculous.

It should be priced based on the competition.

It's priced according to it's competition. It's a flagship. It's not a discounted flagship, yet. It's priced exactly where it needs to be.

People can disagree with how they priced it though.

Yes I think $599 (with coupon price) is very fair.

Do you think that the regular $699.99 price is unfair?

What kind of a comment is this? Of course people can disagree, I was just pointing out how ridiculous her assumption was that improvements are a justification to bump up the price.
