Phew. Verge says it's definitely better than the V30's.
Let me add to this a bit...
Verge says that it doesn't have all of the same issues as the V30, however the display is still bad on the Pixel 2 XL, according to both Verge and Android Central. I am happy to see that reviewers are not trying to hide the faults. Both are reporting major color shifting, excessively washed out colors even for a calibrated display, inconsistent color from top to bottom of the display, and visible grain. This is mind you exactly how every other POLED panel I have used in the past has behaved (hence why I am still not convinced that Samsung is using a plastic substrate, despite Android Authority article, and if they are, the technology is years ahead of that of LG).
I'm still going to look forward to trying this phone, but the weak display and lack of headphone jack will relegate it to my pile of "buy off of Craigslist" phones. For the price that Google is asking, these issues cannot be overlooked.
