Is the processor that bad!!

You only notice the lag and stuttering in the SR vs the OG GS2 when you put them side by side. Web page scrolling and pinch to zoom is no where near as smooth and there is more checker boarding. This is all because the GPU is better in the OG GS2 vs the SR.

Do you have an SR? I don't think you know what you're talking about. I have zero checkerboarding and scrolling OS as smooth as can be.I never use the stock browser so I can't tell ya if the pinch to zoom is how it should be. What phone do you have?

X2 only had my skyrocket for a few days.. shockinly smooth and fast.. LTE service is off the hook fast

The pinch zoom and the tilt zoom is also outstanding.

zero complaints about ANY aspect of performance.

Only complaint is insanely horrific battery life! I did read elsewhere here that the battery needs to be excercised to get better life..I will try that.. else I will have to pick up a marine deep cycle battery and tote that along with me as well :) :)

Mine's pretty smooth. No lags here. Numbers don't always reflect the total user experience.
You wanna see a phone that lags, go try the LG Nitro.

I gave my OGS2 to my gf, and when I first bought the SR, it Did "seem" to have a slight lag when scrolling and pinching zoom compared to the OGS2. After a few adjustments to my settings, and rooting to remove AT&T bloatware, its running very smooth. This is by far better than my old iPhone 4 and I'd say its on par with the OGS2 (which is also rooted w bloatware removed). The processor isn't crap, don't let people who probably never owned the SR fool you by bashing the processor. Try it for yourself, you be the judge. Guarentee, you would change your mind.

Just looking at hands over videos with the t mobile gs2 which runs on the same hardware and I can notice its pretty bad. This is comparing to the epic touch 4g ( exynos powered gs2 ) which is just ridiculously smooth. I mean if you can see the thing lag on videos, it usually means its stutters more in person. If you take your finger and swipe the screen on the web browers, I saw the thing lag pretty bad and the pinch to zoom is not as smooth. It looks as laggy as a EVO 3D.

I have a lot of experience with the OG GS2, so I know how smooth it is suppose to be. Have any of you guys use the OG GS2? Smooth is a very relative thing. A lot of people thinks the EVO 3D was smooth until you put it side by side with something much smoother, I mean hell, the OG droid felt smooth compared to the blackberry storm but that thing is lag city by today's standards. My phone was considered super smooth until I put it side by side to a exynos powered GS2. Now my phone is so laggy by comparison that I can't stand it anymore. Meanwhile I would show my phone to the HTC thunderbolt owners and they blown away by how fast and smooth my phone is compared to their phone.

To put things into perspective, the galaxy nexus is suppose to be super smooth with the hardware acceleration with ICS. Most reviewers would say yes the phone is quick, but some phones still felt quicker. One of those phones would be the exynos powered GS2.

lol you havent seen the Motorola Atrix 4G. this is a very laggy phone even being a high end device. mostly because of Motoblur interface. once you replace it with say launcher pro or adw it's smooth
but the webbrowser is still laggy. Yes exynos is arguably the best processor out there. but I'm running games like Shadowgun Dead Space and Battlefield on my skyrocket and there is no lag smooth as butter. I dont mind a small lag in home screens it doest bother me at all this is an LTE phone and it uses a different processor it still is better than OG GSII in my opinion because of its capabilities.

You're basing this off video comparisons? Have you actually used a SR? I've used my wife's SR quite a bit and it's very "smooth" and there's no perceivable "lag". All we needed was a shot at "pixel density" to complete the fanboy putdown trifecta.

There's nothing wrong with the processor on this phone. It may not benchmark as high as the Exynos, but it's very fast in my experience with the phone.

I will definitely have to check out this phone before I can make a accurate comparison. But if its anything like the T mobile GS2 which has the same processor, than there is DEFINITELY a difference in smoothness. I honestly don't even care about benchmarks. I'm talking purely about functionality here. Most people who has owned both versions would say the OG GS2 is still smoother despite what you guys are saying. We are not saying the SR is not smooth, but its not "as" smooth as the OG GS2.

I went from having the Galaxy s2 epic touch 4G on Sprint to the Skyrocket once i Knew it was LTE I switched over and havent looked back. I dont see much difference in the device in regards to performance. If so its extremely minimal now the difference between LTE and HSPA+ (a faster version of 3g) and Wimax (sprints 4G) is like comparing a Ferrari to a Camaro. In my area where I live I couldnt get Sprints pathetic 4g cause they have terrible coverage.Couldnt get it while i was in my office building either. I had the infuse and i know HSPA+ is the same on the Infuse as it is on ATTs Galaxy s 2 and depending on where you are it could be really slow or somewhat fast. If you are in a area where there is a lot of data congestion expect low speeds. the highest i ever got in ATL with HSPA+ is 11MB which is good but not typical, but on my skyrocket I get speeds between 8MB-60MB depending on where I am. So it really makes your internet and downloading app experience so effecient. you never have to worry about slow connections or inactivity. I wouldnt worry about what people are saying about the phone being slower cause they are really just pulling hairs. Go with the Skyrocket cause the Pros outweigh the cons, If there is any cons.

As owners of the phone, including myself, have said we can't be any clearer...the phone has little to no lag. So how smooth are you talking about because no lag means the phone is smooth. Jesus.

The only area where I see a difference is in the pinch to zoom in the browser. And that's isn't a big deal to me.

Now that I own this phone I can comment. NO, the processor in the skyrocket is not bad at all!!

It's a myth that when people think of a different manufacturer they think slower. It's not that way. Qualcomm is well known for making good processors and circuitry, etc. This 1.5Ghz Dual-Core is fast!! Going through the UI, opening/closing apps, multitasking, etc. is blazing fast!! I'm really impressed with this chip.

Is there noticeable lag when multitasking? I am so ready to get off of IOS, but I am afraid of lag...

No! Multitasking is very fast! You will be blown away by how fast you can go from playing a game to browsing the web and back to the game or whatever it may be!

ive owned both, i dont see any real difference at all.... i actually got a peak quadrant score higher on the skyrocket than the S2...

Yea..it is off the hook.

I was using my wife's captivate. . I thought there was something wrong..not nearly as snappy as the SR!

The LTE performance is unreal! The phone's performance is unreal.
