There is Google Keep. I know in the Droid Razr Maxx they had motorola Task Keeper which i liked, but Motorola tends to use the google-specific app instead of creating a duplicate (like LG and Samsung like to do) . Otherwise it is better to use a third party app. For longer "notes" you can use google docs.

+1 for Google Keep. Free, it syncs well with other devices, and it has a decent browser client for when you're on your computer.

Just more of preference. I use keep for lists and you can also set reminders to specific places.

Keep notes are kept together, they can be tagged and archived. There are good tools for checklists, etc., and it's easy to have mixed media. Notes can be color coded if you wish.

It's specifically made for taking and organizing notes.
