[Solved] Using Action Memo on Lock Screen (with pin)

Hiya,

Please, help this aging techy by explaining how this is supposed to work....

If you go into 'System Menu', then 'Device' and 'Lock screen', there's an entry at the bottom called 'Action Memo on lock screen'. The description says 'To open Action Memo, double tap the lock screen while pressing the pen button'.

Guess what? I've just spent the last 20 minutes doing exactly that and the lock screen just sits there making me look (more) stupid. It seems this feature only works when you have no security set up?

On a side note, has anyone noticed the awesome liquid effect on the lock screen with the SPen?? Hover it over the lock screen or tap. Brill :)

Anyway, if there's any chance of getting the memo working with a pin, I'd love to know how to do it.

Cheers muchly.

Re: Action memo on lock screen - doesn't work with pin...

I did the same. The point is to release the button on the s pen after double tap.

This still doesn't work for me :-( I don't know what I'm doing (or not doing) wrong! I even doubled checked my settings to make sure I had the box ticked - and I do.

Oh well! :-\

Steps:
1 take out the s pen
2 press power button, lock screen is now shown
3 hold the button on the s pen, double click anywhere on screen and release the s pen button. You need to be fast, there are only around 4 seconds before the screen goes off again.
4 yellow paper will be shown on the screen to take the note

sarkycow - This worked for me. I wasn't letting go of the button after tapping twice on the screen, which is why it didn't work at first.

My Galaxy Note 3 goes directly to home screen when I pull my pen out.
I go back to my lock screen manually to try to make this work and I just cannot make it happen 😯.
Must be a setting that I have turned on, or not turned on, that is disabling this feature.

Hello. Are you on KitKat. Do you have Device - Lock Screen - Action Memo on Lock Screen checked. Do you have a pin/pw set, or swipe like me. I tried it now with a pin, and it worked. Try taking the pen out after the screen is locked and dark.
