Is this still a worthy phone, or hopelessly outdated?

I still have my beloved old M7. I am thinking of getting rid of it, but almost would rather get rid of the M8. Is the M7 still a worthy phone in this day and age of ubergizmos, and Android 6+? It has never been out of the Otterbox case, and I am thinking of giving it to either a friend or my daughter (she hates Android, and wants an iPhone 6sPlus) since she wants a larger phone than her iPhone 5S.

I would say hang onto it (or at least keeping the device in the family). There is nothing wrong with having a backup device or one to test things out on.
