It happened. The camera. :(

So lg is charging $175 or Tmobile? damn. You might wanna try fixing yourself. Looks very similar to the LG G5 fix. videos show its very easy to fix and the part for the G5 is only like $7. Good luck so sad :(
The bezel the glass goes in on the V20 does not seem as easy.

Bumping this thread up to see how those of you with broken camera glass have made out. Is LG replacing these phones, or are you having to go through the carrier?

I've been tempted to pick up a V20 used on Swappa, but I'm concerned about what might happen should the glass break...

Swappa just started doing their own insurance. I think it's pretty reasonable. Might be worth it if that's the only thing holding you back on the v20.

I was going to buy the Dual Pro Shine today but noticed how thin the case is and is pretty flush with the camera. Wouldn't do much good in a fall. The Poetic Revolution on youtube a reviewer took his v20 and slammed it down really hard multiple times on a table on the back and front of the phone and nothing happened to it. I ordered a revolution today and bought a Defender at tmobile. The defender has the big opening in the back though on the bottom portion of the camera but it's in there really deep so hopefully it is protected against a fall or hit.

The revolution and Defender are the only two really thick cases out there right now for the V20. Most of the other cases I've seen are pretty thing and wouldn't protect the camera or screen well.

I don't understand why they designed this phone to have the camera glass stick out so far.

I know another member had their carrier working with LG to get a replacement. Another is waiting for replacement pieces to become available, and I'm doing the same at this point. I just check several times a week on ebay, Amazon etc.

Turning it into insurance means paying a $175 deductible for a new phone, LG wants the device sent in before they can even decide what the repair will cost, so I'm just using another device as my daily phone until replacement camera glass options are out

I feel for the people that have cracked camera lens covers. Mine is not cracked but I can only imagine the frustration of getting a brand new "state of the art phone" and having this unfortunately happen.... It really would take the fun and excitement out of getting a new phone IMHO... LG really needs to shift this in gear quick for their own "flagship" phone as they are losing respect from the owners with this issue.....

Anyone know if the camera glass problem is being addressed by LG? I will be getting the V20 (and a case) but I want to know if I'd need to make a glass protector for it.

I've had two V20s since release. Both have been dropped. Not so much as a scratch. The lens glass breaking is not something all V20 owners need to secretly (or not so much) be concerned about. Get a case and treat your phone like an $800 computer and you should be fine.

The camera glass breaking are isolated issues. I have a good idea what causes it when it appears to happen by itself. In some cases people imagine it broke by itself because they happened to notice the breakage long after it actually breaks. In cases where it happens actually by itself it is because some glass cutouts are too large for the retaining frame and they stress very easily. On the G5, it was also caused by people squeezing the sides of the phone because some had GPS issues and squeezing the phone temporarily boosted the signal but caused undue stress on the camera lens.

Shouldn't this be covered by the warranty?
