'I've Ordered a Nexus 5' Thread! (Order & Shipping Discussion)

My phone case - that I ordered on Friday - shipped on Saturday and is now out for delivery thanks to Amazon 2 day free shipping. My PHONE that I ordered on Thursday and paid nearly $15 for 2 day shipping for "shipped" on Sunday and the tracking number has not updated since the label was created :(

Ordered 32GB White at 3:06 EST on Thursday (regular shipping). Order still pending with 11/8 ship date.

So, what you have to say about this?!

Hodgkins, IL, United States 11/04/2013 9:13 A.M.Departure Scan
Hodgkins, IL, United States 11/02/2013 7:42 A.M.Arrival Scan

They have kept it on the same place for two days both Saturday & Sunday, never seen any courier service to do that, that's why I asked how UPS works.

That could be issue in process in shipping and billing between Google and UPS. UPS could have something delaying there process at that particular facility...weather, a computer hiccup...etc

My key point seriously is luck.
I was one first preordet nexus 7 2012 and was one of the very last to get a Nexus 7. I simply had worst luck but even people that order before me had cancel.

Google and UPS process seems much better for this launch than any other nexus launch. However every launch has the unexplainable hiccups in the process that we don't if it's the oem, Google or Shipping company causing the hiccups.

I could easily got my Nexus 5 a month from now....I simply just got lucky. Also could be that I been around AC long enough to know you purchase anything from play store that you pretty much can have any expectations.

Sorry for all thoughs having processing and handling issues but best thing is if Google gave you date or estimated date then check back then. Stop hording over process every second because it's only going drive nuts. Trust me I know what I am talking about.

My tracking number finally appeared in the system yesterday afternoon (I received the shipping notification from Google Play on Saturday morning). Despite the fact that yesterday was November 3, the UPS website stated that the label was printed on November 4 - I guess UPS figured out time travel! I'm still getting the "Order Procesed: Ready for UPS" message, with a scheduled delivery date of November 6. I have a feeling that opting for 2-day shipping was an exercise in futility!

Agreed! I want my four bucks back lol

All to say on that is that UPS is not my choice but Google's choice. Fedex is my personal go to for things I want in a decent time. Fedex also has shown if they can get a package to you sooner they will, as it cost more money to keep the package in the system for the full delivery time. But with amazon UPS seems to operate in a faster capacity for them. I guess Google's contract with UPS is not as lucrative as the Amazon one.

So Jealous, Still waiting for tracking ordered 4 min before you :(

Damn thats whats making me think that google maybe screwed up with the order of how things were processed. It should have been shipped out in the order that it was ordered, but as i can tell thats is not the case but none the less dont worry u will get ur tracking info have you tried calling google cust assitance.

They haven't picked it up yet. I would bet it will update around 2pm today.

Yep. Won't be updated until the carrier picks it up and does the initial scan. Until then, your number is merely a placeholder in their system.

Got a Nov 8th ship date on my second purchase of a white 16gb N5. got confirmation email on OCT 31st at 5:50PM EST...not shipping email as of yet. getting nervous of a repeat of last years n4 fiasco. I waited 3 months before my nexus 4 was shipped and couldnt even cancel payment.

I ordered a little late on launch day and Google told me that the phone would leave the warehouse in 2–3 weeks. (yes that's an en dash, not a hyphen, deal with my grammatical correctness)

This whole wait time was fine for me. I wasn't planning on using my phone immediately anyway—my contract with Verizon ends in January—but I wanted to get an unlocked phone so that I could use it in Turkey. I'll be in Turkey for 3 weeks in December and January.

One thing that irritated me slightly was that Google said that they were not going to take my money unless the product shipped. But they almost immediately took my money. I was going to part ways with that $450 anyway, so it's not a huge deal. At the same time I thought that maybe they actually shipped it.

Turns out their estimation of 2–3 weeks was actually 2–3 days. My phone shipped today, which is 2–3 business days after I ordered.

Small hiccups, sure, but I am a happy customer.

Typically, tracking numbers won't be valid until 24-hr or so.

2-day shipping always means 2-business day, not including weekends(That costs extra). What UPS does is calculating your normal delivery schedule excluding week ends and they guarantee deliver by that date. If there are extra days (including week ends), they will often let the package sit at the warehouse so that it won't jeopardize their business model to justify the higher costs for faster options. I saw one of my package sit in the location for 3 days once in the past.

In this case, paying for 2-day delivery never makes sense as it largely dependent on the initial shipping and packaging delay, not really delivery time. For example, I only paid for normal shipping because when I order, I saw it will be bumped to Nov. 8 for shipping. They shipping my order on Sunday (good job, Google). Picked up this morning and will be delivered Wednesday.

First software update took about 7 or 8 minutes from starting to download, install, reboot, configure, to me putting in my google account details. You can't skip it, it had to happen before I could use the phone so made sure I connected to wi-fi

I got my tracking number Friday night, but as of this morning it still has not entered UPS's system, still showing "label was printed" status. Bummer.

*Check that...as of the last 15 minutes, status has changed...picked up and scheduled to be delivered tomorrow.

Yup called and she stated everything was normal. She said to call if the phone doesn't ship out by tomorrow since my ship date is november 5.

I called and they said that if the phone doesnt ship by 11/5 to wait till 11/8 to call because it will be pushed back to that shipping date? Getting frustrated now...

Ordered on day one and recieved an email from Google containing my tracking number and that my package has shipped. However i've been getting this since yesterday:

"A UPS shipping label has been created. Once the shipment arrives at our facility, the tracking status--including the scheduled delivery date--will be updated."

What's going on and when can I expect my package to arrive? Estimated shipping was Nov. 8th originally but it shipped yesterday.

I ordered my N5 on halloween, pretty much 20 mins after it went live in the play store. Got my shipped email from google late friday night. tracking # went live 30 mins later. It has been 3 days since then, and no updates what so ever from UPS. It is estimated to be here wed..... :-(
