'I've Ordered a Nexus 5' Thread! (Order & Shipping Discussion)

Just because its not as easily swappable doesn't mean it can't be replaced. I'm actually curious how difficult it is to swap. If the back still comes off (which we know it does), then it really comes down to how hard they make it to remove. Just guessing here, but ites probably the same as the Gnex except it has the ribbon connected to the battery instead of pins. Can someone disprove this?

And to keep thread on topic...my 32gb black nexus arrives Wednesday.

Not sure how LG built this. HTC once mentioned that they put battery sandwiched between screen and circuit-board to minimize the phone profile and balance the weight. Goog luck swap battery on that one.

how are you guys dealing with the box seal stickers? peeling or slicing?
What, and open the box?? Matter translocation, of course... That is one of the features that was rumoured, right?

Side note, when Google gave you a shipping date, have hope! Mine was listed as shipping "by November 8." I got notification yesterday that a shipping label had been created, but didn't expect much from that until.... a few minutes ago, when my N5 is reported by UPS as received for shipping this afternoon and scheduled for delivery by end of day tomorrow (I'd paid for 2-day delivery - did they upgrade people to overnight?)!

i did the slice. i like to peel but i don't think these stickers peel off very easy and would leave a mess. i'm trying to keep the box nice for the next guy if i sell it someday.

Yep, just ordered my 16GB black today as well and says it won't leave the warehouse for another 4-5 wks! Yikes! Doesn't really matter to me how long it takes as I want it and it'll be my first Nexus. I wonder once they start getting these out if there's any chance of the projected shipping times going down some...

I don't get it! I placed my order on the 31st at 2:08 (8 mins after launch) Eastern and it has not been shipped! The order still is pending and is 'leaving warehouse by the 5th'.

I've called Google 5 times, spoke to a manager and said their is nothing wrong and that they can't do anything until the 5th.

I don't get how people who have ordered hours after mine have gotten theirs shipped!?

Any ideas guys?

Does it have a user-replaceable battery? The GNex has that and I have a spare battery for long days. The pics online do not show a back cover . . . I would hate to give that up. But definitely considering getting the N5.

This is Google...2 things you will NEVER see on a Nexus again are SD expansion and a replaceable battery. They hate both for some reason.

It's just something you have to accept if you want to use a Nexus device.

did you get 16 or 32? I got 32, maybe there is some correlation there

Yeah I'm sure it will ship earlier. I'm from Toronto as well, ordered my 2 hours after launch it was also scheduled to ship the 8th got a shipping notification on Sunday however I it says it has been created so I guess ups hasn't picked it up. My case from Amazon has shipped as well :) apparently the phones come from dundas Street so once they ship it shouldn't be to long.

Just checked my tracking number it has been updated. I should get mine Thursday :D
