"I've ordered my HTC 10!" (Order & Shipping Discussion)

Honestly I'm not all that impatient for the phone, I want to see if that PayPal 12 month promotion they offered takes effect after shipment, cause it still shows their standard 6 month one as it stands now

Posted via the Android Central App

If you have received your phone, did Paypal switched the financing from 6 mos to 12 months? Just curious. Thanks!

I got my unlocked phone delivered today. It looks amazing. I ordered the gray one. Unfortunately, despite having the necessary bands I was unable to get it to activate on Verizon. I saw the 4G LTE logo appear for a few seconds but it disappeared. I will be sending the phone back.

The website clearly states "The HTC 10 Unlocked is compatible with AT&T and T-Mobile networks." It was never going to work to begin with, so just exchange for the Verizon model. :-)

I know what the site said. I said a long time ago that if it didn't work I was sending it back. I already have the Verizon model. I just find it interesting that HTC made a phone that is compatible with a network but it not allowing it to work on the network. If this phone is able to work on Verizon later down the road then it will be upsetting. I remember the A9 was supposed to work after a software update but they canceled the plan for that.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if your primary connection is CDMA (Verizon, Sprint) as opposed to GSM (AT&T, T-Mobile), is it even possible to use any unlocked phone on a CDMA network?

It varies. Most CDMA devices have GSM radios. As for GSM phones it would technically work if it had the LTE bands but it wouldn't work on the CDMA network for phone calls (if you weren't using VoLTE)... So technically it wouldn't have "full" support like a regular CDMA phone. Some unlocked phones come with CDMA and GSM in them (6P) and can work on all networks.

It is complicated for sure :).

Valid, but this is something not to do with HTC but more Verizon. They're the ones who required HTC to make the model-specific device and which to allow on their network.

I received the email about a gift.

Several sites are reporting that the free gift will be either a choice of Hi Res Headphones, or the Ice view case thats what 40 bucks on their site. Either way we are getting something good, I think this will be the new way of doing business for these manufactures giving away freebies for those that pre order, Oh and it is only for those that pre ordered not folks that ordered after the pre order time period ended.

Preorder time period ended...when? Before 5/5?

Digital River is a complete joke. If HTC wants to get out of the red and into the black, they better partner up with a better distributor. My card was charged 3 days ago and this thing is still showing as pending. Most companies don't charge you until the item is shipped. No one speaks English when you call them because the entire process is outsourced to the lowest bidder. I ended up canceling the order and buying an unlocked unit from Swappa, brand new and unopened, for less than what I would have paid from HTC - and I will have it by Monday. Next time HTC should switch from Digital River to Amazon for a better launch.

Nothing listed for swaps from what I see

Re: "I've ordered my HTC 10!" (Order & Shipping Discussion)

So those that preordered but got screwed and have to reorder will not get the free gift?

Talk about adding insult to injury.

I had the same problem but there are ways to deal with them. My card was denied and I got an email. I called them and stayed on the phone with them and the bank at the same time until it was charged. Then I was a happy camper p

The issue with my order is that it is in some sort of purgatory where they don't even try to charge my card. They said because I had initially selected paypal, then changed to visa, that it was somehow an invalid order, even though on my end everything looks ok. They have never even attempted to charge my card, and so there is no charge denial for me to tell my credit card company to allow.

I never use PayPal with that site. I knew that there would be a problem with orders using credit cards because their system setup to charge cards and deny cards. Some cards are not common. Such as debit cards and non USA cards. PayPal will be the best solution for them because PayPal is legit. Charges for that amount means you have to contact the bank and leave a notation of that incoming purchase. My bank never got the charge because their system never tried, Hence the reason I called HTC.
