"I've ordered my HTC 10!" (Order & Shipping Discussion)

Just wondering if anyone didnt know about the discount code and bought the phone at $699? lol
Theres a good chance that the free gift is the high res headphones as there were lots of complaints that the US set dosent come with it.

Personally, I suggest people not get their hopes up for that as HTC needs money and giving away expensive headphones is not a great way to do that. However, I'd expect something like inexpensive headphones, charging accessory, something physical that cannot be emailed.

I seriously hope I'm wrong! I'd love to get the high-rez sets but when they said, "small token of appreciation", it didn't sound like a high-rez set to me.

The discount codes aren't working anymore. They were during the pre-order period only and expired on May 5th.

Ordered on the 13th and woke up this morning to an email with tracking info. Delivery scheduled for today.

With all the good feedback from this forum i am very excited to get the phone. Nice way to start the weekend!

Appreciate everyone allowing me to vent earlier in the day

Can't stand the edge lol. It's a nice looking phone but I've had nothing but problems with it.

Apart from the fact having the Verizon logo as eye sore, Verizon bloat, slow OS updates etc.

Yeah yeah most people are not bothered by those things!!!

Verizon logo is on the back and not on the front. Last time I checked I don't look at the back of my phone. Yeah there is bloat, which is one of the reasons why I wanted to use the unlocked version. All of that has been disabled. HTC has been better than any oem (non Nexus) when it comes to updates and that includes carrier devices. And most people aren't bothered by those things because most people don't spend their day in forums like us so you got that last sentence right.

My reception is noticeably better on the HTC 10 than my s6 edge. Ymmv

Better than the M8, too. And call quality is off the charts!

I hope this is so. My DNA has been very good for reception. That is a main reason I stay with HTC. Sammy has a questionable relationship with radios and good reception as seen by my side by side tests in a mill environment. If the 10 has sub par or questionable radio...I am screwed.

Got it yesterday and spent a lot of the evening tinkering with it. its unlocked on T-Mobile. Here are some thoughts/impressions:

- HTC transfer tool took almost 2 hours (from an M8). Though that was because of m y 35,000+ SMS/MMS.
- Had to go through the app list to re-install most of my stuff. Was annoying, but surprisingly quick. Most apps would download and install in under 10 seconds. Much fast than the M8 (which already had MM).
- Re-ran the transfer tool with just setting selected, and got all my apps back into their original folders and locations. Saved me some time there.
- Phone is really really fast. Liking this a lot.
- WiFi speedtest at home got a little over 100mbit, which is better than my M8 got, but not near my 400mbit line (ran on 5.0ghz AC)
- Cell speedtest at a random red light produced 95mbit, fastest I'd ever seen on any of my phones, so liking that.
- Cell speedtest at work got me about 12mbit, which is faster than the 2-4mbit I'd see on my M8. Band12 goodness?

Now some questions/issues:
- definitely harder to see the screen with my polarized sunglasses on. Do not like that.
- Is there a way to switch the recent apps to show a grid instead of tiles. Got the grid with MM on my M8 and i really liked it. hard to go back to tiles.
- Is there a battery savings mode that isn't the "extreme" one. I think the M8 had a "regular" savings mode, and then the extreme one as well. Extreme turning off all data and other stuff seems like overkill. Would like an intermediate step.
- Is there a way to customize the quick setting options for when you slide down from the top? Don't care for calculator being there.
- Not an actual issue, but BS player labels my SD card as internal storage, and my internal storage as external storage. Weird.
- Is there a way to get Google Photos to use the albums I already had on HTC Gallery in my M8. they're all in folders by categories I liked. Would be a pain to sort it all again.
- Speakers definitely not as good as my M8, but I knew that going in.

I don't really use/care for the camera, so no impressions there.

I am doing the same. I ordered mine as well and am using it on the cricket network. I love it, its is simply grand, spectacular, awesome, great, super, etc.... lol its fantastic. you will love yours and how it feels in the hand oh and how snappy it is

Quick question, for people who have gotten their phones, how fast was shipping after you were notified of shipment? Also did you go with paid or free shipping? Just trying to understand how long the free shipping takes.

There is a regular Power Saver - Go to your Settings and Power/Battery (temporarily w/o the 10 so I can't look) there should be a checkbox for regular Power Saver.

Mine was shipped overnight. I ordered over a month a go so i don't recall paying for it this shipment sort, it was either a freebie or just the way they ship.
