Did you 6P Arrive on time?

I just ordered a 32GB Aluminum 6P a few minutes ago on the Google Store. Estimated delivery says November 18-20. Woop Woop!

Crazy.. I ordered last night... with estimated shipping of Nov 18-20, and I just got an email from Google that it has shipped. Wow. Less than 24 hours after ordering!

Supply chain fundamentals.. most ERP systems schedule orders with what info is available at the time of the order. If new info or supply is available after that order is placed the system WILL NOT go and re-do existing orders to improve the ship date. Traditional supply chain allocates specific supply against specific orders based on ship date.

New orders will consume that new supply even if that supply is available sooner than previous orders. This is why some folks are getting their orders earlier when they ordered later.

This is how most ERP systems are set up and as we all agree that this is frustrating and should be fixed, it would be very costly and complex to make the shift. As this has been said before.. it's a 'freakin phone'... we all want it.. we're all excited... some of us need to lay off on the refresh button.. but it's still a phone.

I ordered a 128 GB Graphite 6P.. ETA 11-10 to 11-12.. hell yeah I want it now.. but it is what it is!!

Hope that helps!!

Sorry, but I disagree. ERP is my life's work for more than 25 years and I can state categorically that is not " how most ERP systems are set up..."

These phones are not being manufactured to order. The manufacturer ships phones in bulk to the distribution center and, at that point, they should be pulled and shipped to orders FIFO-style. There is no excuse whatsoever for doing it any differently.

I will give a pass on the general possibility that shipments to different parts of the country might be made from different distribution centers, but each of those distribution centers should be processing orders in FIFO style.

My delivery estimate (64gb Aluminum) is Nov 10-12. I checked last week with a Google CSR and they said everything looks good with a ship date of Nov. 5th. That's fine with me; I'm happy for those who got the same configuration even though they ordered later. However, in that email (posted on several sites) about delayed shipments, Google states "Rest assured that orders will still be shipped in the order that they were received". Since they can obviously figured out what was ordered first, why doesn't the same policy of shipping out the 6p in the order that they were received (assuming it's the same configuration) apply here?

Still no movement on Frosts. I just checked the google store and it looks like 32GB aluminums are available again (1-2 business days). If anyone missed the boat :)

Look what shows up as I'm running out the door to work?! Now to set it up while working......

That's my configuration and estimated date. Been pending since last week. Ordered 10/2.

Ordered mine in the afternoon of 9/29. 32GB - Aluminum. Originally listed as coming 11/5 - 11/9. Turned to shipped yesterday, and appears destined for delivery tomorrow (10/29).

That's great, which one did you order?

I ordered the 32gb Aluminum. Thing is, I chose free shipping so there is no tracking number or even a mention what method was used. Huawei chat is down (probably overwhelmed) and I tried the support phone number and it doesn't work.

That is... kind of insane? But it matches up with what's happening, so sincerely, thank you for the reply. It's kind of mind-boggling to think that anyone would design a shipping system that matches on-hand inventory to orders placed in the same time frame that inventory was received, but it would seem to explain why earlier orders are being shipped in place of older, identical orders-- shipping from the same warehouse-- that have been siting in the queue for longer. I am definitely not a fan of that processing, at all. Seems about as ***-backwards as you can get.

I want to make a note that i've read comments saying "It's only a phone" when referring to people being upset about others receiving theirs or shipping snafus.

I think those comments don't make sense in the context of android communities, and hobbies as a general sense. I play a lot of video games, and love them. So when someone says "hey it's only video games" I don't understand what else is supposed to be that much more important to me outside of family and livelihood.

I made a beautiful choice (one granted to me by circumstances, like everyone else here) to be be personally fulfilled by what I love. That's passion for computers, phones and technology. So I think those dismissive comments ignore the reason why these communities exist, and undermines the growing passion for technology. We got one life to live guys and girls (unless you believe in reincarnation), and there's no point in feeling guilty for every little thing that tickles us.

I tend to admire people who show passion for something. Just a thought.

Ordered yesterday, got this today:)

Thanks. This is what I would have expected as well.

JUST SHIPPED!

Ordered 32gb Graphite on 9/29
Processing for like 5 days
Had a "Leaves warehouse Nov 2nd" Delivery expected Nov 5-9
Called Google today to ask how much longer I should be expecting to wait then went to lunch.
Got back and BOOM! it was shipped. Expected delivery Nov 2nd.

* These are totally 1st world problems and I understand in comparison to the worlds other issues this ranks dead last, we've got a lot to fix in the world. Which is why I need a great phone, so I can Vine/Tweet/FB/Instagram/Yeti/SnapChat it all.

Well, dang. Apparently there is no consensus here, even among people who (seemingly) are well-placed to give me insight into how these types of shipping processes are designed. But thank you, sincerely, for taking the time to respond. I appreciate it. I'll just give the whole thing up as a bad job, and settle for the end of my interminable wait. Hopefully not too many (more) later orders get shipped while mine waits. Ah well, the weather is nice-- off to take photos of stuff!
