"I've ordered my Nexus 6P" (Order & Shipping Discussion)

Did you 6P Arrive on time?

It also failed the jackhammer and sledgehammer tests. It's a good thing I don't plan on using either of these on my phone. :)

Seriously though, any phone can be broken. I'd take these tests with a grain of salt as they don't really cover real world usage.

Re: "I've ordered my Nexus 6P" (Order & Shipping Discussion)

Anyone bothered by the varying screen temperature even at the slightest change in viewing angle? Or cooler temp up top while warmer towards the bottom?

Yes...my device exhibits this as well, although in reverse. Dirtier and more yellow in the center and cooler and more white at the bottom.

I expected much better from this screen. Both my Moto X Pure and my new 5X are far better, i.e., much more uniform in color temperature.

The viewing angles (as you mentioned) are also much more sensitive than my LCD screens. Perhaps AMOLED just isn't for me.

I will most likely be requesting an exchange...or perhaps just return it if the viewing angles are this sensitive.

This is crazy. My original order from 10/4 has just went to processing. 128Gb frost!!
I got impatient and ordered the 32gb this morning and it's processing also Lol! It looks like the 32gb will be going back.

Congrats, another prime example of why I am annoyed. 9/30, still pending. WTF Google.

Re: "I've ordered my Nexus 6P" (Order & Shipping Discussion)

I'm still stuck in pending with my 32gb graphite that is supposed to leave the warehouse by Monday. Hopefully they ship it tonight so it moves a little over the weekend. If not maybe they'll start processing it.

Mine, too. Ordered on the 7th. Same configuration. You are not alone!

More please! This is a serious serious concern that I think a lot of people are sleeping on. I don't care to take the reviews into account when there needs to be real world usage from real consumers to see how that screen is really holding up.

I doubt it's anywhere near as good as my S6, but that's to be expected. Amoled just scares me if its not on a Samsung phone, even with this 6p having a Samsung made Amoled screen I doubt it's their best. This brings back flashbacks to my HTC incredible and not being able to see anything when standing outside and I hate when the colors, especially the whites aren't the same throgh out the entire screen, the dirty edges or middle drive me nuts.

if mine ever gets here and it's just the way you've explained it, I will just switch to a white 5x, honestly that phone is growing on me every time I see a pic or video of it.

64Gb Aluminium 9/29 still in pending...while same configuration , same delivery date indicated on the date of preporder but date 9/30 have got their own shipped. Not able to understand

But their CS has stated "everyone is in the same processing standards." I don't blame the CS staff, but I am sure they are annoyed the company is just giving them some lines to say, and they know its complete junk.

What configuration did you order? They seem to have a lot of 32gb aluminum models. My 128gb frost is what surprised me. I have to go back and check, but I don't think many frost models have shipped. I haven't read the thread for a while however.

Decided to stick with the 32GB Graphite and not jump the gun and switch to the Aluminum. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt that when they told me Nov 2 ship date on the phone (from the shipping department) that they meant it. It's still within the window they originally estimated. I have a feeling they are just waiting on stock and turning it around and shipping the second they get it.

Same for me. Ordered 11:13 PST 9/29. Still pending with leaves warehouse by November 5. "Shipping in the order they were received." Yup. Suuuuuuure.

Well as many 32GB's as they have one has not come my way as of yet...Even with it saying only 1-2 days to leave the warehouse for new orders? Lol, I love Google

My 32 GB Aluminum was delivered last night and thus far it's a fantastic device. The build quality is great, the screen is beautiful and it runs quite literally without stutter.

To address the screen concerns, I have not seen any color gradation on my particular unit. Perhaps I'm lucky or perhaps the others that have seen an issue are unlucky.

The battery life is also quite impressive. Full charge at 715 am and it is currently at 83% at 1:15 pm. I haven't been hammering it but I've been using it frequently for texting, browsing the interwebs.

I hope this helps sooth some frayed nerves of people yet to receive their devices.

Thought you'd all like to see the progress (not!) I made on my 64GB Graphite which was ordered 9/30 @ 9:07 AM PDT:

Google Support 12:56 PM
Hi! You have questions, John has answers! At the end, we'll link you to a survey to get your feedback. Happy chatting!

John 12:56 PM
Hi xxxxxx! Thanks for getting in touch with Google support, my name is John.
How are you doing today?

me 12:56 PM
Hi, John. Very well, thank you.

John 12:57 PM
I´ve noticed that you would like to know the status of the order. Is that correct?

me 12:58 PM
Yes. I know you are probably swamped with similar requests, however I see that many others with order dates well after mine for the same device have already been delivered.
It's somewhat frustrating. :(

John 12:59 PM
Please don´t worry, I´m here to help you!
Could you please give me a couple of minutes while I check that for you?

me 12:59 PM
Sure

John 1:01 PM
Thanks.
I see that the order is processing and the expected ship date is on 5th November, 2015 at 15:30:00.
However, we´re trying our best to ship the orders as quick as possible on or before expected ship date.
You would receive an email with the shipping information once the order is shipped.

me 1:03 PM
Yeah, I've purchased Nexus 4's, 5's, and 6's from Google and it is always the same. Your shipments vs. order date never make any sense with people ordering weeks after me receiving their phones while my orders sit in limbo. Always the same. :(
I know there is nothing to do but wait, however it is still very annoying.

John 1:05 PM
I really apologize for that. I´ll take this as valuable feedback and definitely pass it on.
As you it is a preorder, some of the colors of Nexus 6P ran out of stock.
Graphite is in demand and is not even available on Google Store. Aluminium is still available sometimes.

me 1:06 PM
I'm sorry, but that makes no sense at all. Are you saying that preorders take second-seat after non-preorders? How can that be? The initial stock should have gone to the people who preordered. That's the whole point, isn't it?

John 1:08 PM
You´re absolutely right, I completely agree with you. The orders will be shipped as per first in-first serve basis.

me 1:09 PM
Okay, but that definitely does not seem to be happening. As I said, I see many people who ordered the exact same device/color days or even weeks after I did and they have already received.

John 1:10 PM
Oh!
I really don´t know how it happened.

me 1:11 PM
Well, it would be nice if you could expedite MY order. Barring that possibility, please let the powers-that-be know that they do a very poor job of keeping Google loyalists such as myself happy.

John 1:14 PM
I´ll definitely inform to the concerned team about this.
We really appreciate that you´re our loyal customer. Your feedback will definitely help us improve our service to serve our customers better.
Once again, I apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.

me 1:14 PM
Okay, well, thanks for your help, such as it is.

John 1:14 PM
Nexus 6P is a good choice. Hope you will have a wonderful experience with your new device soon!

me 1:14 PM
Not soon enough!

John 1:15 PM
Hopefully, you will get it by the end of first week itself!

me 1:17 PM
Yeah, hopefully...
Thanks again.

John 1:17 PM
Wishing you an advanced Happy Halloweens Day with wonderful weekend!

I see delivery drivers literally toss packages onto our concrete patio when they could easily just lay them down. Idiots.

I also own a 5X and it is an amazing phone...the perfect size/weight and runs Marshmallow like a dream.

As far as the 6P is concerned perhaps others are more used to the limited AMOLED viewing angles as all of my other phones are LCD (MXPE, iPhone 6S, Nexus 5 and Nexus 5X). Some people may be more sensitive to color variations across the panel or perhaps I just got a bad one, but so far, as I said, I am unimpressed.

The screen has a distinct yellow zone in the center, the top I would call neutral and the bottom 1" or so is very clean, bright...leaning toward a blueish white. It looks terrible compared to my MXPE which is the most uniform and neutral screen I have ever owned.

The 5X (and the 5 for that matter) leans toward a warmer color value, but it is very uniform and easy on the eyes. The 5X also has much better outdoor visibility in direct sunlight than my 6P.

It has really dampened my enthusiasm for the 6P...

Spoke to Huawei again and Julius told me that my package is getting ready to be shipped today. And I'll get it early November, just think it's ridiculous they kept on telling me it was shipped on the 28th.

Just missed the Frost 64 GB on the google store. I was at the hospital and when I got home they had a waitlist notification in my inbox saying there was limited availability in the store for that model. Too late.

Unfortunately the hospital I was in is a dead zone for cell phones. Maybe later. Got to keep checking.

64gb Frost still waiting to go Processing. I had hopes it would go yesterday since some people started to see their cards charged, and then ship today for a monday delivery. But unless they process and ship all today it looks like I'll be waiting until late next week for my phone. Le sigh.

Switched to Shipping!!! 64gb Frost! Delivery estimate Monday from Carol Stream!
...Frosters UNITE ! looks like we're finally in the loop ! jeez, been awhile...*patontheback* :-X
