It's just sensor. I'm not aware of any tactile feedback. From what I've read and saw videos of, all you need to do is place the registered finger on the sensor and the phone will wake and unlock (less step and button to press).

Oh, one more quick question. Is the fingerprint sensor (Nexus Imprint) on the back of the phone an actual, tactile button or is it merely a stationary sensor? I like the idea of the latter, as I've really become accustom to soft keys that come along with vanilla android and other variations (LG, etc)

Nope. But you are less likely to have to pay sales tax on the purchase price.

*EDIT: Oh crap I meant that answer regarding ordering directly from Huawei. Can't say re: Carphone Warehouse.

I tried the huawei pre order and they charge tax for me in California but i didn't see the $50 credit so it doesn't make sense for me. out of country maybe? IDK I just got 6.0 OTA for my Nexus 5 I bought direct from google close to launch so I can wait.

That makes sense. Huawei probably has a physical presence in California, so they have to collect sales tax there. In other states, its the responsibility of the taxpayer to remit the proper sales tax to the state government ;)

Idk about the whole "no tax" angle people keep talking about. I ordered direct from Huawei and am in FL and I had to pay tax.

Re: Nexus 6P (or 5X) shopping times.

At least for the 6P the earliest expected delivery date I've seen is Oct 30th for those who ordered right away.
I don't believe "those who ordered right away" matters... It seems to be a direct correlation between color and internal storage.

I would bet if you did a chart of phone color/size combo vs estimated ship you'd see what I'm talking about.

Depends on the state. I tried NJ (where I live now), and it charges sales tax. I tried TN (where I used to live), and no sales tax charge.

Re: Nexus 6P (or 5X) shopping times.

So my estimated shipping time is 4-5 weeks, and I've seen others say the same thing. Was wondering if that's how they all are or if earlier orders have earlier shipping times. Maybe 2-3 weeks? Is it a staggered rollout?

Can't wait for my 6P and November can't come soon enough!

The original question being asked was simply if earlier orders had earlier ship times. Regardless of color and storage options it seems people who ordered early had the same delivery time frame.

I don't want to speak for anyone else but I think the intent of the question was to see if they were going to be 1 of the first to get the phone or not.

Since you mentioned the variance in shipping by color and size I went to the store and selected a few different options and all listed a "Leaves warehouse in 3 - 4 weeks".

I put the link in manually before anyone even started posting about it on twitter and the 64gb frost had same expected ship of Nov 5-9 as the 64gb graphite. People who ordered hours later with 32gb graphite, for example, had Oct 30-Nov 2 timeframe. I don't think it really matters unless you're ordered a popular color/storage combo today instead of a week ago.

Either way, when you quoted me all I was answering was someone who wanted to see if other people were set to get their phones weeks before them. And the answer to that according to estimated delivery dates seems to be no.

What I'd be curious to know is how much inventory they have right now. When I got my nexus 5 the difference between ordering right away vs. waiting was huge. The phone was sold out and I got really lucky I happen to be online on vacation when they went live.

This year it seems like you can change your mind on the color or size or protection, cancel and reorder, without taking a huge hit on your delivery date.

I don't think google is going to have an issue fulfilling inventory this year like they have in the past if the current projected ship dates are any indication.

I'll keep my fingers crossed with you. The MXPE deliveries were a disaster with estimated dates being all over the place and actual dates being even crazier.

If google ships all these orders around the beginning of November and we all get our phones around the same time this place will be a zoo, can't wait.

Well, hopefully they have their ish together this year, that's for sure. I am just going to offload my 6+ when this arrives so I'm not in a big hurry.

Re: Nexus 6P (or 5X) shopping times.

Also, just as a FYI, I had originally ordered 64gb graphite set for Nov 10-12 delivery and then changed my mind an hour later for 64gb frost... Ship date changed to Nov 5-9.

When you ordered doesn't matter as much as what you ordered.

I want to change 64 Gb to 32 Gb on my order. How do I do that? Do i have to cancel and reorder or is there any other way to edit the order without cancelling. Thanks

Yes. You do have to cancel and reorder.

How are you seeing a specific ship date? Is it only when you actually confirm and order? When I go on it simply says "leaves warehouse in 3-4 weeks" for all.

I ordered the 64GB Frost edition. It says processing 1 - 2 days then shipping 4 -5 days. However, if click on order number to check status it then shows actual delivery date (approx.). Mine says Nov 6 - 9 :(

I'm super impatient and wish it was coming next week already.

Google says invalid payment method with my visa and mastercard in puerto rico. Also says purchased items are unavailable in your location. Why google why ?!?! Somebody knows why ?
