On the main order page I see the Nov-4-6 estimate but when i click on order details there isn't any dates or estimates like you described. unless I'm reading your post wrong.

I'm the same as you. Shipping date range in order history, but nothing when I click on the order detail. Screen shots below.

Oh, and I did an online chat with customer support at the Google Store, asked what the difference between preorder and pending was, and they said "it is basically the same thing".

Same here... I have been checking mine daily and this is the first time it changed. I have a Nov 2-3 date... I did order 2 days delivery.

The Nexus 5x buyers said their orders were turning to pending about a week ago. And they are now getting their delivery dates as Oct 21, or 22nd. It sounds like they'll be shipping some Nexus 5x units next Tuesday.

Speculating with the same timeline for the Nexus 6p, we'd expect to see them about a week after that: October 27th.

Correct. Just talked to the Google Support. They confirmed that the shipments will commence in the last week of this month.

Mine hasn't changed, but I do hope the 5x leaves sooner than the 20th (and of course the 6p leaving sooner than the 27th ). No charges on my CC (USA here):

I'd rather pay the $89 now and IF I need it pay the deductible later to replace a phone. It is still MUCH better than paying another almost $700 I paying for another 128GB N6p if it breaks.

Often, broken phones can be repaired for much less than the cost of the phone. Especially when the phone is 6 months old or more, you can often get parts cheaper or even send it in to have it repaired.
