JB roll out starts today in stages according to moto.

In the past, as long as the version passed the soak test, the testers would just keep the update that was pushed to them, and wouldn't be asked to update again.

By masses i mean being able to pull it from the server. Verizon historically has pushed to limited non-soak users as another sampling of a control before opening up the servers.

How would this help? Are they waiting for a trickle of calls to customer support or something? Their offical blog says that they are rolling it out now. At 11 am tomorrow morning, I will have had it pushed to me for 48 hours. Could we have new protocols with the folding of Moto into Google? I suspect that things are not as they have been in the past as the integration continues.

Verizon has it posted on their website that it is currently being pushed out in phases and will be available to pull next week for anyone who hasn't received it. My guess is that it's done this way to better handle the server load.

Yes, this is traditionally how updates are pushed out after the soak tests are over. Usually takes a week or so for everyone to get it. Why it's happening concurrently with the soak test is anyone's guess. Maybe they had enough feedback generated from the accidental push a couple of months ago to make the soak test more of a formality that didn't have to run its full course. Or, as I mentioned, maybe they are evolving a new procedure. Who knows? In any case, they aren't waiting for the final results of the soak test, for whatever reason. It's rolling out to everyone.

Well, still waiting here. And my phone keeps lying to me, with this "your device is up to date" message. I'm starting to develop trust issues lol ;)

The changes arent that intense and ive had zero issues so far. I imagine the full scale push will happen soon. Vzw usually rolls out slow at first, then the pace increases. Mine was pushed by Moto

If I got the x-mas leak and am currently still running on that 4.1.2, will I still be getting an update? NYC metro area

All the information I've seen indicates "yes". Your download will be significantly smaller but will bring you to the same version as those going straight from ICS.

As a side note, it appears to me the rollout has slowed significantly. There doesn't appear to be nearly as many people getting the update pushed today. I know Verizon had some data issues in certain areas of the country earlier today so that may have had an affect or maybe they've just throttled it back. Regardless, it's coming very soon.

Try this:

Go to Google framework services under app manager clear cache/data, force close. Check for update. Retry a couple times if it doesn't work the first time. Let us know if you had luck with it. Sometimes, it just hasn't been released in your block and no way around that.

As long as it's charging, you're good to go. They only tell you to have at least 50% battery in case you're trying to update without being plugged into a power supply.

Hey guys just received my JB upgrade this morning, took about 20-25 mins total for download and install.
All apps and settings seem to be the same prior to the update, doesn't look like i'll need to re install anything.
Have to wait til i get home from work today to play around with it because of lack of signal in my office. :(
