I had the same issue with the KingsModFormat failing until I installed The Amon_RA and then it worked fine. Although I didn't want to really go to Amon_RA it was worth it and worked just fine than.

What are the steps you did to install Amon?

The easiest way to flash Amon_RA is by downloading ROM Manager from the Market. Scroll down until you see the section for recoveries and go into it. You should then see the option to "flash alternate recovery". Select it and let it do its thing...after which Amon_RA will be your new recovery.

I'll have to go over the instructions again when I get home (bookmarked on my laptop) but I believe it was the file he said to copy to the root on the sd card and than reboot in recovery and it auto installed. (Than remove it so it doesn't re-install again) I was hesitant at first but determined to get this "3d" ROM so I just dove in.

Quick question, and I thiiiink the answer is yes, but will Anon_Ra recover an old nandroid backup you ran on ROM Manager and/or Clockwork Recovery?

(Really am hoping "yes" since I didn't do a Nandroid backup with Anon_Ra!)

I did run into a nasty bug this morning. Its the bug where you take a pic and try to delete it from inside the camera and the phone reboots. I had to do 2 seperate battery pulls from this. All I can say is that Nandroids are the greatest thing ever!

Sadly, the answer is no. Clockwork uses a different naming system for the backups. Although, I do wonder if you renamed a backup made with clockwork...would RA be able to use it? As it stands though...the backups made in the different recoveries are not compatible with each other.

Nothing is working for me. I get to the new sense lockscreen and when I unlock I get a force close from setup everytime. I really would like it to work but I've tried multiple times, different ways and nothing works.

That's very odd man. If you have wiped everything and flashed it properly it should have took. Perhaps your EVO just doesn't want you to have apps on your lockscreen. :-( Did Amon at least flash right for you?

I just followed the steps regarding "Amon RA 1.8.0 recovery" in the download page. Not sure If I'm allowed to post a link or not but it's on the page we get to from here to get this ROM(s).

Hope that helps but it looks like it maybe just your phone with all the issues you are having? If I were you I would go back to a backup that was working fine (preferebly your first nandroid backup after rooting?) Than try it all again step by step.

Correct, if your still able to go into the menus inside ROM Manager then you still have Clockwork as a recovery. Once Amon_RA has been flashed, a popup will show up telling you that you need to flash Clockwork in order to use it if you try to do anything inside of ROM manager. Not a problem man...it's what I'm here for.

How about this. If you spell iPhone incorrectly, it'll correct it for you. I found this rather odd, but I've noticed 9 out of 10 phones will correct the spelling of iPhone.

So far I tried all 4 versions of Alliance ROM. The best one that worked for me was the 7.4T Been running it smoothly since Saturday. Today, none of my contacts are showing the contact avi's in the messages, and apparently a lot of texts aren't coming thru. Anyone else getting this issue?

And yes I've re-booted a few times and synced all accounts.

I had that issue with one of the 7.3 versions, the 7.4 T (themed) version seemed to have work best for me out of all 4. I just re-flashed it again to fix the small issues I was having. Although I don't seem to be getting all my texts still.
