jelly bean (samsung s3 mini) native e-mail app not updating automatically

Hi.

I have a samsung galaxy s3 mini with android jelly bean. using the native (is this a google app or a samsung app btw?) e-mail app and it works well, except that it doesn't update automatically as I have specified in the settings (sync is on and so forth).

Does anyone know about this problem and has a solution?

You say sync is on but you do not say where it is "on". In the app there is a setting to check mail and in settings>google>gmail account there is also a setting.

hi. thanks for your time. however, I found (noobie me) that I had to activate the whole shadoo of auto sync in data settings.
