Just got a software update on my skyrocket

Why would att release an update that doesn't install?

I tried 3 times to manually download the update and install and it failed at 75% on the white update screen each time.

Then on my way home, I got a notification saying that the Device Manager was downloading something (didn't manually search for software updates this time). It then said that the update could be installed now or later, so I chose now and it again failed at 75% on the update screen.

So essentially, four tries and four failed attempts...

Same thing fails at 75% says to check again in 22hours 20 mins. the update fixes batter meter and replay all mms.

It's currently installing right now. I was already on 2.3.6, and then all of a sudden it popped up.

It is a 20826KB download.

First attempt failed, redownloading it now to see what it is.

same for me 2.3.6 - failed at 75% and I was using the ATT network (I was next door to a ATT store) when it failed.

Mine also failed, I have a stock GS II Skyrocket. If you want to try again and watch it fail... again... you can just set your phone's clock forward I day and try again. Been there. Done that. Failed to Installed.

I tried twice, and mine failed as well. Won't let me retry. My second Skyrocket doesn't even prompt or find the update.

I got the update notice while @ lunch, so I clicked "postpone" (for an hour.) When I got back to work I went into settings and continued the update. Mine slowed down in the 70-80% range but pushed on thru and sucessfully updated. Took around 5-7mins.

Worked first time out of the box. I had 2.3.5 on this phone. It upgraded to 2.3.6 baseband I727UCLA3 and build number GINGERBREAD.UCLA3. My phone is completely stock. On 2.3.5 I had carrier IQ detected by two different detectors. On 2.3.6 i no longer have Carrier IQ. The lock screen has a little padlock animation as well.

I downloaded with 4g lte itis not ICS I also postponed it for 4hrs until i got home and it went right thur. but i don't see much difference. the phone icon looks different and the swipe screen shows a lock being unlocked

It could also be a typical case of too many people pulling the same download from the server and the phone isn't downloading the file in it's entirety no? If it's not ICS who cares

OK, so now I'm home on wifi and still no dice. So, I'm retrying the download Ans I'm doing the postpone thing for 4hrs to see if that will do it. If that doesn't work, I don't know what else to do.
