Any recommended apps or anything? Should I be using a task manager, or is the built in one fine? Any tips would be appreciated!

He buddy,

Welcome to android world. No need for Task Managers these were needed during Android 2.0 and before, now it will hurt the performance of your phone more then help. Leave multitasking as is, it has been very efficient since Jelly Bean. Beautiful widgets is a great app, for the rest its a matter of preference.

Hope this helps :) and enjoy your HTC one M8

Task managers no longer needed for Android. They never were really but that's another topic.

Sense has very little bloatware, except for blink feed and you can remove that page from your home screen if you don't want it.

Thanks for some of the quick replies..Is there a way to remove bloatware on it, or do you still have to root it?

I think he means carrier bloat. I think on Verizon there are 17 bloatware apps, and 19 on AT&T (or something like that).

You can disable it but not remove it unless you root. Disabling it doesn't remove it from your device so it's still taking up internal storage, but in essence it "removes" it as it is no longer running and is hidden like it doesn't exist.

My advice:

Buy a cake
Find a quiet place
East the entire cake
Jump for joy because Android is awesome
... then maybe get sick from to much cake
