Weird. Two opposing statements from two LG execs?

Do you have a quote from the executive who said that LG was going to make the Nexus 5? I am really hoping that LG does make another Nexus, even if it's just a revision to the Nexus 4.
Well I am using about 6GBs of my 16GBs on my N4, and my T Mobile HSPA+ which can work up to 21Mb/s is fast enough for me, and does not drain the battery as quickly as LTE I am told. So that is not even worth $25 to me much less $250.
Would you buy a Nexus 5 that had $250-worth of extra features? What features would interest you to spend the money?
As for the HTC One GPe,
it's shipping now, so it'll end up in people's hands maybe as early as tomorrow. We should be getting reports from customers on the battery life on LTE relatively soon.
The One GE is better on paper, but when you actually use it, there are inconsistencies caused by the phone not being made for stock; for example, uncomfortable navigation and a terrible camera.

That's a good article. I like how JR Raphael characterizes the Google Play edition phones as "hastily assembled experiments" because that's what they really are: experiments in stock Android. Since the HTC One wasn't even mentioned during Google I/O, I think this was all a last-minute thing that Google cobbled together with their top hardware partners.
Do you think if Google, HTC, and Samsung put more effort, they can overcome the inconsistencies you mention? Maybe over time they'll put enough software fixes to make the experience much better.
And we all know what can absolutely count on what the tech support rep tells us.....[BOX]

Does Google have a reputation for bad tech support, especially for devices? What was your personal experience like?
I'm confused how everyone knows all these things that are contrary to GP support reps...do you guys have someone on the inside or something that knows more than google itself?
I would be curious about this, too. It's certainly possible that the Google Play edition phones may get delayed updates, but how do we know that for sure at this point in time? Aren't the phones just starting to ship today? There seems to be a lot that is left to be determined at a later date.
Maybe for a minor update, but no way are they gonna have Key Lime Pie ready in a couple of weeks. Remember, apart from updating the software, they will have to test. At the time the GE manufacturers are handed the build, all building and testing is done for the Nexus.

In theory, could the development and testing for the Nexus and Google Play edition phones be done in parallel so everything is finished at the same time?
It would be difficult, of course. I'm guessing that the Android team is used to working on updates for at least 4 distinct devices at the same time: the Galaxy Nexus, the Nexus 4, the Nexus 7, and the Nexus 10. Adding 2 more devices will make the juggling act that much harder. Still, is it impossible for companies with the vast resources of Google, Asus, HTC, and Samsung to do it?
I'll pass. Maybe next year for a GE phone. Let them work out the kinks first. Sounds to good to be true.

You are taking the sensible approach. The Google Play edition phones are definitely not for everyone. For anyone even considering the purchase of one of these phones, they should wait until more people get their hands on them and report their experiences.
You're kinda alone on that. Doesn't happen on any of the 5 Nexus 4s people I know own.
I see your 5 and
raise you approximately 30 users with Bluetooth problems on their Nexus 4. The last post was on July 7th at the time that I accessed the Help Forum.
I've had noting but LTE devices and the Nexus 4 blows them out of the water. Hands down.
Which LTE devices did you own? How bad was the battery life?
