Just ordered my gold Nexus 6P from Best Buy.

Is there anything I should do out of the box?? Is encryption as much of a slow down as it was on the Nexus 6? Should I disable it??

Also I do not root my phones or do any roms as I'm not used to doing it on Mac which is all I have now, but is there still a benefit to unlocking and rooting it ?

Thanks for any feedback.

Unlock the bootloader first!
Even if you don't want to root now or do anything. If you do later you will need to unlock the bootloader and it will wipe your phone.

Unlock out of the box!

Just got mine and downloading apps and getting it all set up. Hopefully I get to play with it later after I get done at work.

How are you liking the 6P vs the Note 4? I currently have an 8 month old white Note 4 and really want a Gold 6P but trying to justify the switch. Especially after paying full price for the Note 4.

i had been seeing the gold 6p on commercials and websites for the last few days and instantly loved the look!

...needless to say i went on the google store yesterday to see the return policy on my aluminum 6p that i had ordered not too long ago, and found out it was 15 days...i was on day 14! i immediately filed for the refund (since google doesnt do exchanges) and ordered my gold 6p!

it's slated to arrive Friday!

Cant wait!

Well I'm probably gonna get smashed on here but I can't see myself keeping it compared to the note 4. I've had the note 4 since launch and I really wanted to love the 6p but I wasn't blown away like I thought I would be. I will say it's hardware is fast and very smooth. No bloat is awesome. Imprint is unbelievable as well. But I still like all the touches Samsung has that I would miss. Note 4 camera is better imo, selfie sensor on back, multi window, etc. I also just like the feel of it better, screen to overall total phone size is more proportional. Power and volume button placement is terrible. Still great phone just can't justify the 600 total for 64 gb version coming from a note 4
