Just received the newer version of Seidio Innocase II, seems more rubberized inside

To be fair, with so many devices on android in different shapes, (it's not like subtle changes to a bb or iphone) it will be hard for seidio to keep up with QC and availability.....

Well, let's just say I am one unhappy camper. I just got my replacement Rose Pink case and popped it on my phone to see how it was as my wifes is with her and she is out at the moment. It's tighter, barely, and still has some play to it and still creaks as well. Instead of it sounding like a loose floorboard now it sounds like a deep croak/ribbit from a frog.

What I am saddened by the most is at how hard this one was to take off. I did it just as the instructions stated and just as I have with mine and it would not come off. I literally felt like either the phone or the case was going to break in the process. I finally got it off and thankfully there is no damage to either the phone or the case. The inside was not more rubberized like others have stated, just more felt lining went above the camera cut out. I am sad to report I will be returning both cases I bought for a refund. The purpose of a Hard Case like this is to protect the phone from breaking if dropped, but if you break it while trying to take it off doesn't that kind of defeat it's purpose?

You received the replacement today? I thought ALL replacements sent by Seidio from last week on were the "new version" cases.

My blue innocase II from Amazon is waiting for me at home. I was told on these forums that it will be the new version of the case. I'm getting nervous now to hear that seidio is still shipping out the older version cases that are defective.

Yeah my replacement came like 30 minutes ago. The inside was not rubberized at all as stated by the reps. The only difference is that there was an extra piece of felt that went above the camera cut out as stated in my previous post.

As Seidios inbox is full here I just called the Customer Service line. The lady I spoke to was really nice, but was dumb founded when I told her the inside wasn't rubberized as stated it would be. She offered to ship me another, but to be honest I have had enough. Three junk cases was the limit for me so I kindly asked for her to send me the pre-paid shipping label so I could return them all and get my money back.

I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for and at $30 a pop plus S&H this wasn't the case this time. I will upload an image of what the new "fixed" cases look like in a minute so you can see.

Anyone have any recommendations for other cases Hard or Silicon?

I have the black one which is more rubberized inside. It sounds like they might not of fixed the colored versions as they did the black one. Did anyone else with other colors, other than the black newer version of the Seidio Innocase II, get the new fix with same felt as old but the plastic was instead rubberized?

I currently have the seidio active limited case from amazon and love it. No problems at all.

I ordered the blue innocase II off amazon just to have the blue color option. I should have it on the phone in a couple of hours and will report back about it.

Here are some pics. As you can see there is more felt, but the inside plastic was not coated with rubber like they stated all fixed ones were.

I was doing some thinking after my last post fraz and even though Seidio stated that all cases even those sold on Amazon are the newer version I have a feeling they weren't being completely honest. Doesn't Amazon buy them direct from Seidio for a discount and then sell them? I cannot see Seidio or Amazon for that matter taking such a huge hit by replacing the old ones with new ones.

Either Amazon had to eat the cost on the bad ones and get new ones or Seidio had to eat the cost on the bad ones and ship them new ones. And even if either of those scenarios hold true, how do you know for sure Seidio mass produced enough to replace the bad ones and rush shipped them to Amazon to sell in time to you or anyone else for that matter? Or what's to stop Amazon from still selling the junk ones?

Bottom line is, don't be too surprised or upset if the one you have waiting at home is a defective case.

Just got the Blue Innocase II from Amazon and snapped it on.

It does NOT have the amount of felt as the pink one above, and it does not have a "rubber" material inside but the coating is instead of it being all blue like the front of the case (see pic below). So my guess is that Amazon is stocked with the older cases - not the newer revised one as the seidio rep stated - big time bummer.

The case fit perfectly and right now there is no noise nor is the case loose. Luckily I have 30 days with amazon to return it if it does give me problems. If the case does start giving me problems, I will be back with the report.

That is the NEW case. Previous cases had a shiny black plastic on the inside. The new cases have their "rubberized" coating, that gives the case grip, applied on the inside. Not the rubber I had in mind when speaking to the marketing coordinator but indeed an improvement as my case in burgundy is great. I'll also go out and side I'm in love with the seidio active case, it's amazing.

Well not even 24 Hours with the BLUE Innocase from Amazon and the top portion, above the volume buttons already is starting to wiggle and "squeak" a little bit.

What a huge disappointment as I was told on these forums that the color cases via amazon would be the new style and revised case.

I will contact amazon later today and also write a review regarding these cases on amazon later to warn the others out there about the color cases on amazon.

Yeah mine did the same thing. I resorted to the electrical tape fix by putting small strips of electrical tape in the bottom corners of the lower portion. It feels much better afterwards.

It sounds like Amazon and Seidio aren't on the same page. I think Seidio, themselves have fixed all of the ones they sell on their site, but Amazon might be responsible for fixing the cases they bought from Seidio, for those who ordered on Amazon's site. If I had ordered from Amazon, I would return that one and then order from Seidio directly. It really looks like it is being handled different with Amazon and Seidio, and I mean separately. You can also call Seidio first, before you order and ask them how the case you are ordering has been fixed, more felt, rubberized, etc.

Yes Amazon is responsible for ceasing the sale of these defective cases and using the newer ones. What's disappointing as fraz stated is that somewhere in this thread (or another regarding this issue) the Seidio rep guaranteed that Amazon had the new cases and that is all they would be selling from that point forward. Obviously they are not.

I bought the Best Buy "Platinum" case in the gunmetal color yesterday. It's identical to the Seidio Innocase, except it has a Pt logo on the back. (It actually says Seidio on the bottom of the packaging.)

It's really nice, and the gunmetal color matches the Sprint logo on the screen.

The inside has felt on it, just like MannyZ28's pics show.

Is this the new design, or old?

I took some pics...with my Evo no less....

:-)

If you need a higher resolution version, let me know.

I guess most of you have seen my post regarding the scratching of the innocase II on another forum.

Here's an update to my problem:

main.php

Okay, so I got the new revision of Innocase. Apparently there's 2 different revisions that I got. The first one is the black case. If you look @ the labels on each side, the old case has a shiny plastic texture. The new case has a rubberized texture. Both cases have felt in the same location. The newer revision with the rubberized interior is the case that you need to make sure your getting. This new case is tight fit, 100 percent (as of now). I don't know if the case will start squeeking because of plastic stretch/wear and tear after a few days.

Now the white one. Same thing as the black. New cases have rubberized texture, the old case has shiny texture. BUT!!! Look closely... The felt on the new white case covers a huge top portion where the NEW black revisions doesn't. Why couldn't they make it all standard that the felt lining will clover the top portion like the new white case in the picture above! . The new white one also fits even tighter than the black one because of the additional felt. The rubberized coating does seem to give less stress when your sliding the case on and off.

Overall! Rubberized does feel much better when sliding the case on and off. I think it will do some protection as the fit is much tighter. Since my evo is already scratched up, i'm still very pissed about it. If it causes more scratches I will definitely report back. As of now, seems OKAY!...

Thank Seidio Rep - "Jack" for listening in. Hopefully their future cases will improve after this.

I have been speaking with Jack Yang, marketing coordinator for Seidio, and the Innocase Surface II now has a rubberized lining. This is a confirmed change that is permanent to all further Innocase II production. If you have a prior case without rubberized lining I suggest you get in contact with Seidio and get an exchange. I was suppose to get the new rubberized lining in my 2nd replacement, but their shipping department failed to ship the new version last week. Jack Yang asked me to pass this information forward to all of you and hopes for your continued support of Seidio. I am very impressed with their choice to listen to us customers and make this change. I hard plastic shell with a more rubberized liner is far superior to plastic on plastic. Good job Seidio and time for some new reviews of the Innocase II!

Just received my Ash Grey case from the Store here at Android Central. Looks like I got the older version with the felt.

Who should I contact to get the latest version?

How can they change a production line so fast though?
I am still skeptical, but at least they are attempting to correct the issue.

Ordered a white one early last week from Seidio because it was in stock. Email the next day saying it was on back order......Might be time to upgrade your E-Commerce site Seidio.

@ htc.EVOlution

Is there ay way you can take a couple pics of your Evo in the white case?
I would like to order the case but would like to see what it looks like with the Evo.

Thanks:)
