Again in monument area of DC and thru Falls Church and in Vienna, no outages. Won't be back at Dulles for 10 days.

Data service still appears stable in central Pennsylvania. However, given Virgin Mobile's history of major data outages, I wonder how long it will last.

I was on wfif most of yesterday because I couldnt get a 3g connection.
Call CS cause I thought it might have been cause my plan restarted yesterday, they said they were having some problems.
Around midnight my 3g connection came back and so far been golden.
I think it was because of my plan restarting but /shrug..

My datas been out for about an hour
Using the optimus v, in brooklyn, ny, bought it on the 24th, worked for 2 hours then that night it went out. Then worked since then, buts going on 2 hours being out since about 6pm est, So I'm just using my wiFi for now. Now I'm reading that this is a usual occurrence? Love the phone, coming from a blackberry. Hope they resolve these issues.
its: 9:50pm 3G is still out, I'm giving up for now, I'll check tomorrow morning, hopefully it'll be up again by then.
UPDATE: Its 11:32am the next day and it worked for all of 5 seconds just long enough to receive 1 email. This is not good. Tried airplane mode, that didn't work.
1:40 in the afternoon and still no 3G, so no emails, nothing. This really can't continue, To say I love this phone is an understatement, but at some point in the next week in a half I'll decide if this is worth it. If not I'll go for a higher end android, with another carrier. Oy, vey.

I'm in Overland Park, KS, thought I have 5 bars for 3G, have not yet been able to connect via 3G network. Can connect using wireless.

About 5 hours later a service tech called, found that my Data setting was not enabled in VM's record of my account. Now have 3G data downloads at a good speed. Satisfied now, it was just a frustrating experience. If you have a problem just keep at the service techs!

Maybe something could be wrong with your phone. Im in brooklyn too and I havent had any data issues for the past week. Havent had the need to do airplane mode either

I just called virgin mobile they had me do a reset the whole kit and kaboodle, now they say I have to wait 4 hours before I can start using data again. uhg... I'm gonna wait and see what happens, it worked fine for about 5 days, then it just went out.
It is strange how your not having any issues, being in brooklyn, I'm in bushwick. Typically I have full bars in my home, never an issue, using sprints network, had the boost blackberry, same network, never an issue, even tethered just fine via usb. Oh well, I'll see what happens. Keep you guys posted.
5 Hours later still no 3G I Called back, and the lady said she escalated my technical issue and now someone has to call me back in 24 to 72 hours? Holy Cow. I'll wait, for now. But not much longer, called radio-shack to check on the return / refund policy.
Next Day: Almost 2 Days to the hour its 4:52pm Thurs, And still no 3G Service. So much for living in NYC, in this day and age this is really unacceptable, I should've known better, this is what we get for $25 a month service

im in sheepshead bay. Maybe it could just be the area your in. You should see if it works in other parts of brooklyn.
Benshonhurst, Bay ridge and manhattan no data drops at all since they fixed the problem. It's been almost 1 week and data has been very consistent.
Averaging 1.3gb of data usage in a month.
VM is the best kept secret for mobile phone if they can keep the service up.

I just switched from Sprint like a few weeks ago to VM Optimus V and it was too good to be true. Same coverage as sprint but paying 1/4 of the cost. That is until 3 days ago I noticed my 3g wasn't working at all when I was outside of my home wifi. I live in the NYC Metro Area by the way. I hope VM fixes this asap since i rely getting my personal E-Mails on my phone while im at work. Geezz

chicago area for the past couple of days they have knocked me down to 1xrtt many times. it does go back to 3g. are they throttling anyone else?

Just a suggestion, if you call VM CSR and they say a support tech will call you back tell them no. You want to speak with somebody right now. No call backs no waiting you are payin for the service and unless they credit your account for the lost days you will cancel.
What they will do then is probably put you on hold and contact sprint tech support and get you transfered. Atleast that is what they did for me.
Be firm but dont be a dick. The csr's are not techs and can only offer basic troubleshooting. It is also policy to say they will have somebody call you back. If you refuse that they have to try to please you. These calls are always monitored via a automated system that scans the call for certain key words.

Mine is going on and off every minute or two in Minneapolis, MN right now. Was working great the last week. Thinking it's a tower issue though since it actually moves me to 1x or completely removes the data icon, plus it will drop all my bars to 0 when it happens as well.
